Is Sykora expected to go back overseas this season or will he be in Hartford?
Nobody knows yet. Nothing has been confirmed. Is Sykora expected to go back overseas this season or will he be in Hartford?
I think Cuylle may be the only one that might make the team out of camp. With the signing of Gustaffson, it was a forgone conclusion in my mind Jones was AHL bound.Frankly, I think it would be very good for all parties if Othmann, Cuylle, Sykora, and Jones start this season in Hartford together. It’s a long season, there will be injuries and underwhelming vets, so organizational depth is a good thing.

It will take an absurd training camp for on of the forwards to make it. Safe route would be to give the vets 15-20 games then re-evaluate... unless of course it's blatantly obvious at camp, that some kid greatly outshines a vet.
I might actually subscribe to watch Hartford games this season.... hopefully they improved their streaming.
then he's gonna get dragged around like Hajek.Jones is going to be in the NHL in some capacity. He will get claimed on waivers.

I dont pretend to know how waivers works but isn't he on Hartfords Roster? If he gets called up then he cant go back down?
he should but for the reason you just stated, he'd be sent down.Im not an expert but waivers don't start until teams start cutting down their roster at the end of camp. Jones should make the team as a 6/7, he's got nothing left to prove in the AHL anyway. The next step in his development is practicing and playing at the NHL level. Injuries are going to happen, and he will get chances to play.

The Jones topic got interesting w signing 2 vet D.Im not an expert but waivers don't start until teams start cutting down their roster at the end of camp. Once he gets called up, he's Hajek 2.0 or he flourishes

If no one injured in camp,
unless they keep 8 D,
one of Mackey, Jones or Gus
will need to be waived
Any player on an NHL contract that is subject to waivers must clear waivers before being sent down. Being in the AHL as of the prior season is irrelevant.then he's gonna get dragged around like Hajek.

Maybe they waive Harpur and keep Jones so as not to lose him, or maybe we carry 8 dmen and 12 forwards.

Maybe better to work with this coaching staff than Hartford?
The Rangers seem to leave the bulk of the content creation to the beat reporters. Good on Vince, but the rangers could easily do more.Bootlicker mentality. They think criticising your favourite team makes you a "fake fan" or something. We aren't asking for unreasonable things here. All I want is for them to do what other teams are doing. They don't have to invent new shit, be pioneers or anything. Just do what others are doing and a lot of fans will be a lot happier.
But no. They act like they are royalty. Want to talk about entitlement? The Rangers org is entitled.
Fans bitch about lack of development but have no tolerance for the development process. No wonder they can't please you donks. Not of fan of holding on to prospects who you constantly bury under retreads.
It's obvious the organization doesn't wanna put a midget on the 3rd pair.
So be it. Trade the guy already.
Totally agree on Sykora staying closer to home for another year. He appears tough mentally and highly motivated. But he really hasn’t faced any adversity yet in his career, has he? I’d rather he grow a bit more in his comfort zone. Do no harm. No need to rush him.Nothing has been confirmed with Sykora. It’s basically WHL, AHL, or back to Europe. He would be one of the youngest players if he plays in the AHL, i’m not so keen on that. Hoping he ends up in the WHL to continue to work on his offensive skills in the smaller rink. If he’s in the AHL it will stunt his offense.
Totally agree. Especially on this point. The funny thing is that it wouldn’t take all that much to create a more fan friendly situation. They just don’t need to go down that road so they don’t.
Do what you wantI was just playing around and reminiscing. Sorry it bothered you. I will stop.
