It's only one game, I mutter to myself repeatedly as I drift off to sleep.
How does a new coach who doesn't know the old coach do the exact same things? It's like a head coaching trope: ride your "best" players when times are tough. What blows my mind is PP1 was the same 4 right handed shots. Gallant doesn't know Quinn yet went to the same well.
The only thing that worked for the kids was putting them together. They don't work well with the vets.
Coach Jovo would roll withEvery single coach on the planet would employ the same top PP unit, have Fox with Lindgren and have Panarin with Strome. Everything else is the coach's discretion.
Not sure what you can expect out of a borderline 3rd liner. The contract isn't going to turn him into something he's notDid Barclay Goodrow play in this game?
Like, was he alive?
Where is Ron Duguay when you need him?One thing's for certain. If this game was on MSG, Homer Joe would've given every excuse in the book on why they got caved in.
This is a huge concern and why I really was opposed to signing him long term. I just don't believe in paying that much money to a guy who is supposed to be a #1 center but can't push play in a positive direction.
Coach Jovo would roll with
Panarin - Zibanejad - Kakko
Fox - Kravtsov
and we would be miles better!
And this one should have been used as the 2nd picI mean they could have just used the 2nd pic for the offseason too.
Yeah well, playing with finesse instead of solid, mistake free hockey got those kids benched under the previous coach. So no wonder if they are not yet over it.He’s more steady and cool under pressure than flashy. Don’t get me wrong he’s better than Pettersson or Hughes, but I wish Laf & Kakko played more like finesse guys than just boring solid mistake free hockey
Zib and Panaran didn't show up. Panaran actually got pushed around.
Georgiev should be playing a sport less reliant on reflexes. He needs to be anywhere else but in a net where the Rangers are playing hockey.
Whomever decided the penalty kill needs to maintain a perfect square at all times needs to go wherever we send Georgiev.
Miller was terrible. I'm not sure he's earned a spot on the second pairing...or maybe in the nhl at all. That needs to be watched and addressed soon if it doesn't improve.
Laf was too invisible to be assigned a bad adjective like terrible. I agree with the Krav move...but we might need to be consistent here with Laf. My lines tomorrow would be:
Kreider Zib Kakko
Panaran Strome Blais
Laf Chytil Goodrow
Hunt Rooney Reaves
Kakko has earned his top six minutes and this fixes the Kreider at right wing deal. Blais might have been our best forward tonight. He balances that line and will deter runs at Panaran. In my opinion these two things need to happen. Last stop before Hartford deal for Laf.
Nils and/or Jones should be playing on D.
Tinordi. LOL
Georgiev. LOL
Miller. LOL
Strome. LOL
