Actually, we have another problem, which again rears it's ugly head: players playing hurt who are a detriment to the team.

Now, we question the medical staff, coaching staff, GM, why the f*** they were allowing players to play? Do they collectively have a problem with their brains processing what their optics saw?

Even more questions as to why Jones wasn't called up, why Fox wasn't assigned solely to the PP or PK. Hell, I would have played some players every other game, which makes dressing Rempe only to keep benching him in the 3rd that much more nonsensical!
This is what I thought in my family message group.

Just makes me less mad at the player and irate with the medical staff, coaches and GM.

In light of Ramsey mysteriously getting fired I think we need an expose. This is Mets level incompetence

This board dismisses injuries as a non-factor but probably 80% of these board tough guys take mental health days and go to ER with paper cuts.

Everyone deals with booboos in the playoffs.

Aside from Fox being hobbled, injuries aren’t the reason for certain players shitty performance

This is what I was referring to in regards to insulting our intelligence. They said he broke his foot in March, nobody is healing from that that fast.

I don't know the severity of how bad it was but it sounds like he chipped a non weight bearing bone in his ankle not his foot lol. Thats the key, had it been his foot (which does bear weight) he's missing the rest of the regular season at a minimum.

The playoffs started 6 weeks after it was announced that he was out. I have no idea when or where it happened (If it was in game or during practice, it was announced towards the end of that stupid 5 or 6 day break the Rangers had before the trade deadline) but it isn't unrealistic to think that he could have healed up before the start of the playoffs. Bones heal pretty quick.

Trouba himself said that it got better over time. His play got worse the further they went along. Sounds like as the competition picked up, he struggled. That was happening whether or not he got hurt in March or not.

Plus guys like Trouba are people that Larry goes to bat for through hell or high water. I don't know if he was trying to squash the misinformation or what but if he's calling it out, I'd probably listen.

This was even WORSE under Ramsey.

Guys getting hurt and trying to play through it in the playoffs is not strictly a NYR thing. It's a NHL thing.

See: Chris Tanev played the last 2 games of the Edmonton series with severed tendons in his ankle. Evander Kane is playing with a Hernia. Seth Jarvis played with a torn labrum, etc.

No one is "dismissing" the injuries and I'm pretty sure most people are self aware if they cracked a rib that they'd be f***ing hobbling around in their life and probably feel like they're dying.

What people are (very clearly) saying is that Lindgren and Trouba sucked ass before the injuries and that there was barely any difference in how much they sucked post the injury. They have been god awful for so long now that it really doesn't make a difference how hurt they are.

Sure, Adam Fox, absolutely true that he is great when not injured and we shouldn't trade him (unless something crazy happens). But Trouba and Lindgren, please. The only people on the board who actually think that they will be great when healthy and that their continuous suckfest was injury related, are those who actually need to have their heads examined at the ER.

You don't think playing on a bad ankle or having a broken rib can affect a players performance? I thought it was pretty obvious in Trouba's case he went from just plain bad to f***ing horrendous. They guy couldn't move.

Didn't realize Igor is 28. Definitely in his prime years, so stop wasting them.
It's Hank all over again.

He had to know he was detrimental to the team. If he had real leadership skills, he should have sat the f*** down and let someone else take his place. I can't stand him anymore.

Absolutely.

Sprained an ankle and it was a nagging thing for 6 months. Can't imagine trying to play hockey on it just 2 or 3 weeks later.

Yeah, they get paid millions of dollars, but they're still physical injuries. Are we really going on about this in 2024?

If anything. it should have been a coaching decision to sit the guy. If they get the nod, most of these guys would play with an arm hanging off.

This is ridiculous, the coach would be the one to make that decision. A player that says he can't play but technically can would be crucified for being soft. People jump back and forth on sides of the ledger when it's convenient. It's the coach's job to make the decision to remove trouba if he feels it necessary, not the player.

Kreider Zib Panarin and Tuba call the shots around here, not the coach

I agree. He should have never come back in the regular season. There was no pressing need.

Lots of players do that and will themselves to play. The coach should have been the one to realize this and sit him yet he plays him 2nd line minutes with Miller against a hard forechecking team. Even more reason to be pissed at Lavy for his dumb decisions against Florida.
