Please take this as a question of curiosity, not of criticism - what's the point of these mock draft sims, especially since there is practically zero chance anyone will ever really come close to an accurate mock? My guesses are there are three primary reasons (check all that apply):

1. The gaming angle to achieve the validation of a high evaluative grade by the site
2. The immediate and higher likelihood of selecting the same player the Eagles (or other team) would choose with their first pick
3. Other

I've made my opinions known on mock drafts of any kind, but I am open to at least trying to understand the attraction of it all.

Time's yours.

When I do them, what I’m looking to see is mostly what boards can look like in rough areas. It’s a much more fun way of thinking situationally than jotting down listicles of the 6 guys I would take at 10.

You can also visualize how you build the draft class. It’s one thing to have mid-round targets, but it’s another to repeatedly have similar, but slightly different boards at 62 and get to play out the draft at various approaches from there. In how many of these scenarios can I grab an IDL I like? We know they’re not going to draft 3, so building entire classes makes me think differently about earlier picks that I may have super close. I would never drop down a tier, but if I had a Corner and a WR with similar top 5 grades available at 10, I do want to know how likely it is that I can fill the spot I don’t take later. That’s more useful to my personal thinking than spending 2 hours deciding between 2 guys I love. Loving them is enough for me. I’m not making the pick.

I also limit myself to one trade down in the top 100 or it gets silly quickly. And I don’t take obvious won’t happen situations like Will Anderson being available at 10. It’s polluting my thinking to even entertain that.

whoever suggested Fournette..i would stay away personally..sure he can help but he is a shade of what he once was

Need someone's password.

Also, is Hooker really going in the first round or is this the random QB each year that gets first round buzz and goes on day 3? Clayton Thorson getting 1st round buzz was my favorite.

MFW reading The Beast and Brugler did his homework with finding out birthdays for all the prospects.

I think this is where he ends up. I just don't see him making it past 5-6.

Realistically it was always just gonna be about time and letting the story 'fade' a bit. Once it was being floated and cemented that he'd go at "#10" and you didn't see massive 'fan backlash' it just makes other organizations have more cover and be like "Ok. We'll just take him #5/#6 then".

Barnwell put the "Anti-Bijan anywhere close to #10"case better into words than I ever could:

I think what Carter did was very shitty as well. I am not sure if one can or should compare it to what Hill did but its still the type of behaviour that I usually would not want around my team.
But when it comes to Carter, I would fully rely on the Eagles internal investigation. We have Davis and Dean on our team , a ton of money to investigate that stuff and the team has access to ressources a casual fan will never have.
They should be able to find out just how much of a headcase he is and how horrible these off the field issues are and if it is somewhat "fixable" or if the guy is a bonehead through and through.

If they pick him, I am confident that they know what they are doing and that they did their research on him. If not then I would fully understand that as well. He has accumulated a ton of red flags for me by now. If he weren't as talented as he is in a weak draft, I would probably want no part of him.
But he very likely won't make it to 10 anyways.

I've been meaning to tell you that I'd like to change my Charbonnet hunch to Kendre Miller.
I've been meaning to tell you that I will chug an entire bottle of chocolate milk if they don't walk away with Ojulari. Getting an official birthday sealed the deal for me.

I also find it hilarious that 3 of the guys I like at IDL are back to back to back starting with Ojomo.

It's not anyone in this thread doing this. I get what the discussion above is and isn't about.

But is it just me that finds it weird we're equating choking and punching your pregnant girlfriend in the stomach and drag racing? I know I will never want Tyreek Hill on my team. Ever.

Yeah they aren't even the same neighborhood to me. Carter messed up, but he was a side-character in that whole thing. Ty Hill is the villain of his story.

Lots of interesting debate on 94Wip about this...shocked how 50/50 it is.

One of my favorite points is that there hasn't been a Super Bowl winning that's drafted a RB in the first 25 picks or so since the Saints drafted Reggie Bush.

No Bijan at #10, por favor.

Jesus Dwayne Haskins family 'estate' basically throwing lawsuit **** against the wall and seeing what sticks.

Claiming a conspiracy to 'rob' him and get him intoxicated/drugged.

Dwayne Haskins was drugged on the night of his death as part of an alleged "blackmail and robbery conspiracy" against the former NFL quarterback, according to a lawsuit filed by his family.

The lawsuit, filed last month in Broward County, Florida, lists four individuals, two restaurants, a golf driving range and a hotel as defendants connected to the alleged conspiracy.
