This is why the good Lord invented piracy.

I look forward to the summer long sports talk radio conversations about how Harris needs to sell the Sixers if they're ever going to win after they get knocked out by the Celtics in the 2nd round.

"This guy owns the Devils and the Commanders! Two rivals! He's not Philly. He needs to go!"

How does Bezos get outbid here? What is the point of being that rich if you don't own a football team?
You don't get rich by writing a lot of checks! Depending on how high things were going maybe Bezos would have had to leverage some assets he didn't want to leverage? It isn't like these people are actually paying with real money. It is all just borrowed-against or liquidated assets.

I will say though that Harris absolutely does not deserve his own stadium for the Sixers.

Well, well, as I've said before, kind of a double edged sword here for me.

It gets Snyder, a dude who sticks out as a scumbag in a business choke full of scumbags, out of the league and he loses this platform for his scumbaggery. That's great.

However, it also means that a division rival is no longer run by a complete moron who doesn't know shit about shits (yes, Charlie from Sunny reference) and they could conceiveably return to some form of competence in the future. Not so great.

I would've rather had the moron continue running our division rival.

But objectively a terrible human being is out of the ownership group, so I guess it's an overall win for the NFL.

He completely dumpstered the financial draw of what had been one of the most reliable cash cows of the league. It's idiotic the owners didn't boot him several years ago over any of his infinite provocations.
