If they take LVN instead of trading out with Levis on the board, I may actually cry.

But I always enjoy re-drafting this without trades based on his availables, so let's go.

10. Broderick Jones
30. I guess Branch, but you know how badly I want to say QJ.
62. Brents going at 61 is heartbreaking. I'm either taking Mingo or LaPorta. I'd have to give that a ton of thought.
94. Cory Trice all day. Sydney Brown was definitely in consideration, but we took Branch earlier.
I think you would have to hit up @Starat327 for a nice beverage if it were to happen.

IDK how to feel about Trice. Is there such a thing as "too much depth" at a position class? I'm at the point where I keep nit picking all these CBs slated to go after Gonzalez, Witherspoon, JPJ and Banks.

Cash lol

A bidding war for the Commanders is something I didn't think would happen

If Carter is at 10 oh boy my #TeamTradeDown bias is screaming at me.

Sounds like trying to get a team to jump #9 in a 'bidding war' via leaks.

Thats more than I would have hoped for Hurts but I guess thats close to market value.

But 51 M AAV just means that we really can't waste #10 overall on a RB because this contract + our usual 30m dead money / year will make things difficult with the cap going forward.

Man....I mean it's hard to argue against him earning as much as this, and it would have been easier swallowed if they had won in Feb, but at 51M this just stings to not have at least a LITTLE bit of a haircut discount to spread the $ around.

At least they didn't react to the market (waiting for Burrow or Herbert to sign) and at least got out ahead of it.

Non-Mahomes QB contracts are formulaic. The highest paid player is the QB who signed most recently. You'll notice this hit the expected numbers almost exactly. That's a non-story.

The no trade thing...Mourinho.jpg

They're mid-rounders. If you weren't nitpicking them, they'd be top 10 guys. It's really a question of which flaws do you think won't be a major problem at that point in a draft.

There's only one answer to "Does Jalen Hurts deserve to be the highest paid per season player in NFL history". It's not yes
Well you won't have to worry about that for all too long because Burrow and most likely Herbert will surpass him pretty soon.

Its also not close to as much guaranteed money as Watson got. But yeah. A few million less / year would have been far better for us of course

Time to trade every first rounder ever lol.

They need to a huge quantity of picks to hope some of them hit. They need a ton of quality players on rookie deals to make this work. Also, it was fun having Devonte for a few years

It won't last long imo.

Burrow and/or Herbert will eclipse it. And on Herbert, I would argue that's a more emphatic "no" because he and the Chargers haven't really done anything yet.

Yep. They'll both beat it. Just like with Wentz, I may disagree with the QB decision, but Howie knew he had to get it done before everyone else. And he deserves praise for it.

There are many, many reasonable opinions on all of these QBs, but trying to lowball Justin Herbert because rhe Chargers were a mess and also got destroyed by injuries on top of it is not one of them.

Now we draft a QB in the 2nd and repeat the cycle.

Unless you have Mahomes, if you think a franchise QB is there on Day 2, you take him. That's not what they thought when they drafted Hurts, but it still needs to be said.

He likely won't be the highest paid per season player in NFL history once Burrow and Herbert get paid.

Roseman: Missing Russell Wilson in 2012 Played into Eagles Drafting Jalen Hurts

Roseman didn't mention Wilson by name during an interview with John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia, but his description of the situation matches up with the Seahawks signal-caller and the team's third-round pick that year, Nick Foles:
"In 2012, we had a vision. We had a vision that we would draft a quarterback who's been extremely successful, and I don't want tampering charges on me, but I think we can understand who that was, and then come back in the fourth round and draft a quarterback who won a world championship for us and go back-to-back. And I feel like we got a little cute. And I don't know that there's a big difference between taking the 53rd pick in the draft and taking a pick in the third round if you feel strongly about a guy."

I love Howie Roseman

No issues with Jalen the person getting that contract. We can't ask for a better guy to have the keys. He's every intangible you can ask for.

Hopefully the player execution on the field is near last year's levels.
