Rochette is not only undersized, while he's had good regular season stats, last two years in the playoffs, 16g 2-12 14. Not exactly overwhelming at 20-21 years old.

I don't remember him from rookie camp, Avon at 18 made a bigger impression than Rochette at 20.
I think Martel was a better undersized prospect, at least he's had a good AHL career.

He is listed as 5'11" and if he can add some muscle, that's an Aube-Kubel like frame. You are mentioning Dannick Martell who was not only short but lightly built - a better comparison would be Alexis Gendron.

That and Rochette can actually produce - the only one scoring more on his team was drafted in the first round.

He's overaged, he should score in the CHL.
He showed nothing in rookie camp, where he should have flashed talent if he's a hidden gem.

Gendron now has 8 goals in 4 PO games so far (24 total for his team, so it is a shooting gallery).
We'll see if he can sustain his production in the next round, against a tougher opponent.

Just another in a long line of 1st round disappointments. Unfortunately, some have disappointed after signing their second contract (right after).

If both parties agree ( I will assume a written agreement) before the draft to depart ways then this year.
