Second round picks don't matter

Of course they do.

Ginning +24
Attard +10
Connauton +3
Hogberg +3
Karashik +3
Belpedio 0
York -1
Zamula -4

Now it is possible Ginning is the luckiest mofo in North America.

the Hagg --> Risto --> Ginning pipeline appears to be set. now we just have to hope that by some miracle, a particularly stupid team will be willing to trade for Risto's contract at some point over the next year or so. i would've guessed Vancouver but i think the Hronek trade satisfied their quota.

Well, he's better than JOB.
Avon is outplaying his teammate Stillman (#29) from the same draft year.
Drafting is not an exact science.

So far, York top 4, Tippett 21 goals, Foerster off to a good start.
Attard, Desnoyers are good bets to play next season. We'll see Andrae tomorrow?
Gauthier???

ivan sanheim tony d Risto Seeler. Add in a free agent or trade. Not sure Attard or any in house dman gets the nod.

I don't think Ratcliffe is good -- I never have -- because of 9 games in Milwaukee. But his AHL production was way below what even I expected. We can move past Fletcher calling Ratcliffe, out of juniors, an untouchable, a judgment call which absolutely makes him complicit in getting no value out of him (what could he have been traded for/with in 2019?). But if his AHL production was even vaguely average on his ELC, I imagine we'd be talking at least a mid-rounder in return. I've never seen a team so categorically awful at sinking the value of assets. What the AHL team has been doing for years -- and will continue to do for years with Ian "Good Job" Laperriere -- is malfeasance. They don't grasp its purpose, on the ice and behind the bench.

Ratcliffe's value plummeted the moment he left junior hockey.
15 points in 53 AHL games at 20 meant at best he was a long term project with lots of downside.
Maybe a 5th rd pick at that point.

His 9 points in 9 games is impressive until you realize that's 8 assists for a guy who isn't a playmaker, 1 goal in 9 games is the same as his 21 goals in 160 games for the Phantoms.

You penciled him into the lineup as a future NHLer this season.

Seems like a big development failure, huh? It's ridiculous how fast you're backpedaling. Hook a generator up to your bike and it would melt.
