Like I said in the Kravtsov thread...he just had to bide his time until Gauthier returns to form. Gauthier lost the spunk when he realized he didn't have to fight to get dressed with Blais down and Kravtsov in a hotel somewhere.

no it was Panarin's fault but i also though Trouba could have gotten a stick in there but pulled up. Its not like he was even out there than long.

He didn't pull up, he was hedging against the skater joining the play. He literally lunged at the shot.

Kakko is fine. He had really good chances in both games. Of course he hit the post. Of course he did. But I'm not really worried about him at all.

Lafreniere still completely lacks offensive swagger. He's certainly more physically engaged and way better in transition. I think he's more involved around the puck and looks pretty dangerous coming down the ice. And then he gets into the offensive zone and it's like he's never played hockey before.

On a 1-10 scale of forcing the issue, Lafreniere is on 2 and Panarin is on 57. I need them both on 8.

lol that wasn't a 2 on 1, that was a partial breakaway that Trouba could have pressured, but the F made a smart move and looked Trouba off like he was thinking about passing and Trouba opted for the lazy play and to glide and 'block' the non-existent passing option giving a full breakaway instead. Shitty play started by Panarin and finished by Trouba with perfect execution by Dallas. Perfect execution- something none of our forwards have managed in 120 minutes of hockey so far. Thoguht Trouba was solid otherwise

God I hate 3 on 3 so god damn much.

This team has had trouble scoring "clean" goals. It's been all deflections. We need a sniper like @EdJovanovski , I mean Kravtsov.

Been that way for years. Panarin, Kakko and Laf were supposed to change that. But unless Panarin is scoring them no one else does.

Lafreniere has not looked good.

That being said, Shesterkin is legit, and we have Adam Fox. They played a really good game. If that 40 minutes is a preview of what’s to come it’s going to be a really good year. I’m choosing (probably foolishly) to be optimistic.

CK is doing his job in front of the net, Fox is awesome and the fans were really into it, just had a puck on a string. Glad he was able to score his 1st goal of the season.

Someone needs to tell Mika and Panarin that preseason is over.

Exactly. If he just rushed Heiskanen back at the blue line, all Heiskanen has to do is drop that puck into the center of the ice. His teammate is the only one that would get to it. Trouba eliminated any potential for a pass and allowed his goalie a clean look at the shooter from the dot. Would have been great if he were able to break up the play at the last second but you can't always do both in those situations.
