Not worried about Panarin. He was the reason we lost, but long term he’s the least of our concerns.

The unforced errors, lackadaisical play and the complete no show from our young forwards is a huge problem.

We’re literally the only team in the league that can develop forwards. We’re just allergic to it.

I’m guessing he was trying to conserve energy, figuring the shooter is a defenseman and isn’t approaching the goalie head-on, and thus maybe unlikely to score.

Not saying it’s right. I just cant imagine what else he could be thinking.

If the first 2 lines are useless, might as well just put Zibanejad with Panarin

In general, guaranteed contracts are bad for sports. Players shouldn’t be able to cash in and take their foot off the gas. You stop performing like a 10M player, you ain’t getting paid 10M. I hate guaranteed contracts.

With the right complimentary player, they basically play defense by being on offense. They need an energy guy to run around creating loose pucks so they can keep possession.

Of course not. I just disagree on how they’re going about it. I wanted them to grow those players through the draft or trade for young players who haven’t yet established themselves with other teams.
The hired gun route rarely works out.

Very possible but he just didn’t look assertive. Which you need to be in that situation.

I’m a fan of Trouba so I’m not trying to hate but he made the wrong play

no it was Panarin's fault but i also though Trouba could have gotten a stick in there but pulled up. Its not like he was even out there than long.

i said it all summer. Don't extend him before the season. So not only did he get his fat retirement deal but he also got married this offseason. Big 20 goal 50 points season incoming for Zb.

I like CK and Fox. They seem to gel. Similar demeanors. Consummate professionals. Hope the locker room has a few fun guys though.
