I’m so tired of the “got a point at least”. That’s a game good teams win. Your home opener, ceremony for one of the greatest players in the franchises history, you outplay them for 40 minutes…and it’s “at least we got a point?” God our fanbase is full of turkeys

Strome is weighing this team down so much. Chytil is ready for 2C. Strome is a 3C. Gallant is incapable of evaluating players. Zibanejad and Kreider? Awful awful combination for OT. Panarin and Strome? Pathetic. Trouba shouldn't be out there either. He has no foot speed and gets burned too easily. Wasn't his fault on that OT goal but just putrid. Gallant has no idea what kind of players he has.

Call me crazy, but I'd rather even have Gauthier in there over Strome. At least Gauthier could use his size and speed to get to the net and MAYBE, MAYBE, MAYBE the puck will find its way to the net.

But Kakko and Chytil should be in over Strome. We need to upgrade over Strome.

Bread and Zib need to wake up. Strome may have put up some points during the stretch where Bread was out last year, but it’s the same song we’ve been singing since his first full season here - he puts up points like a 2C but simply ISN’T good enough to be one.

Long season. Still withholding judgement until at least 5 games in. Saw flashes of what this team is capable of after the first period. Let our foot off the gas the last 5-10 minutes and then our “star” veterans played a lazy, sloppy OT.

Gallant needs to mix his lines up. Chytil isn’t in a position to succeed. If this is going to be his usage, move him in a package to upgrade Strome and let Goodrow be the 3C.

Laf should be down on the third line for now. Blais, when healthy, should go to the Panarin line and provide the Blackwell/Fast spark. Kakko should go with Zib and KK. Maybe Laf and Chytil can capitalize on some softer matchups playing together on the third line and being babysat by a veteran Goodrow.
