Great effort to come from behind. Carter George looked like a seasoned vet. But FFS the GD ladder back on the PP didn't work last year and it doesn't work this year. Can we just stop with it already. Just carry the puck into the zone.
Haha it's not even a ladder anymore, it's a double ladder! It's so cringe every time they come up the ice with the puck. By the time the play gets to the o-zone everybody is stacked up on the blue line and there's no outlets.

Anybody catch what the Lawrence fight was about? Seemed random but with horrible timing, especially with the instigator. Lawrence was having a great game and then sat in the box for nearly the entire third period. Just a bazar decision there unless something happened that I missed prior to it.

The Colts in house staff were so giddy with the 5-1 lead, they jotted down 3 ☆ halfway thru the game and went home early.

Too bad they missed the last half of the game.

Including a stellar mop up job by young Carter George, a spectacular come back by the Attack and a perfect OT and shootout.

And totally overlooked a milestone game by Deni Goure including 1G, 2 A, and reaching the career 100 pt mark .

It was an ecstatic group who mobbed 32 after the W.

Votary is not very good
WOW just WOW.I know we are going to agree to disagree here because that Goalie stole your GF in highschool lol j/k. But in all honesty watch the replay and let me know which one you would have stopped, then let me know when your playing net next. I have a couple young tenders that would love to get some pointers.

Lol totally agree. Lets not forget the colts do have a pretty decent roster with some very talented older players who all found the score sheet a few times. Votary may not of been perfect but he has definitely played pretty well most other time I have watched him. Cant judge a player on 1 game. Its not all on the goalie in a 5-1 game the rest of the team needs to take some of the responsibility for it to. The good thing is the boys showed resilience and bounced back. Lawrence was a very welcome addition back to the line up and man that Papis goal was a thing of beauty. DD is lookin pretty good in that trade so far I think.

He should’ve had the first and fifth one. And they probably don’t win if they don’t make the goalie switch. At some point you need your goalie to make a timely save and he didn’t do that last night.George came in and he made some nice saves to keep it at 5 and he was a wall in the shoot out. And I’d ride that momentum into Saturday if Chenard is still injured. See how he does. IMO I’ve not been completely confident in Votary and others will disagree and that’s fine. We are allowed to post our opinions here.

Of course your allowed to post your opinions? Who said you cannot?

Conversly, your, and anyone's opinions are not exempt from feedback and dialog, perhaps praise or critizism.

Did Votary have a lights out game, not at all. Was he the reason they were down 5-1, not at all. He was the teams best player in the loss to Mississauga and certainly held them in there against Sarnia for the first two periods.

I think the history of posting saying every goalie we've had his bad makes people question things is all.

You haded Chenard last year and now he's one of the top 3/4 goalies in the OHL statistically. You hated Guzda and he was lights out last year and has had a great start in the AHL. I think if you look at the history of the OHL, most goalies are not very good until they are 19/20, there are very few Michael Dipietro's out there. Even McNiven really didnt become a star until his last year.

Expectations and perspective are key sometimes.

I’m expecting a big year from Chenard being an OA goalie and how he played in the playoffs against Flint. So ya expectations are high for him this season.

Attack Beacher I agree with everything you said can't really add anything. I will agree that changing goalies changed the outcome of the game but that's not a knock on Votary its just the oldest trick in the book to light a fire under a team. Sometimes it works sometimes not so much. Thankfully last night it worked and probably spikes George's confidence.

But you spent a year saying Chenard couldn't stop a puck and should be traded?
Ya I remember quite well.. and I’d honestly still rather see them trade for Brochu if they thought about going for it this year. Unless we see more playoff last year Chenard.

Could we maybe start a Go Fund Me page and buy the coaching staff an old VCR and VHS tapes so they can watch some video of the games because they obviously don't despite it being 2022? If they do review video, how on earth can they watch this same hapless pp entry for the past year and a half when it is not working at all and say "yep...let's keep doing that...I think it's coming?." OMG that ladder play is designed for speed entry. We have 9 walking up the middle of the ice like he is wearing shoes and dropping to no one. If it doesn't get picked off there is no one coming with speed. Defenders all across the blue line so can't even dump and chase it bc everyone is flat footed. Its comical. Show me the last power play goal that we scored bc of that latter entry. I will wait...

Hats off to Carter George last night!

I have a feeling the moment he lets in a poor goal or has a bad game, it will be the same thing however. Brouchu probably is the 'best', but he's got an .875 sv percentage vs. Chenard at .921. If Chenard had a .875 right now, you would be justifiably critical.

I think there are other more pressing holes on the back end, 1 better overage and probably a better import, to be looked at before we replace a goaltender who is having the success he has had thus far.

I found other players way worse then Votary last night, missing passes, poor pinches or unable to handle a quick attack, for me they are equally or more worth critizism vs the goatlender who was left to clean up the errors in front of him.

I’m pretty sure London is the weaker of the two teams this year, and they are getting some players back to help out there D. Votary let in 5 goals on 20 shots, George came in and made saves. Let George start Saturday night and see how it goes. Sometimes a rookie goalie with no pressure or expectations can do wonders for a team.

London's D is much better and deeper then the Attacks

They have 3 NHL Drafted defenders and a top 5 pick in Dickinson who is showing he could be a top pick in next years NHL Draft, and Oliver Bonk who is projected a top 60 guy for this years draft. Plus 2/3 guys equivalent to Sawyer and Steen.

The Attack do not have the defence group that London has, not at all, that is their one saving grace.

Nice bounce back game for Votary tonight. Thought he battled hard looking for pucks through traffic tonight.
Nice game for sure...I would not consider it a bounce back..he did not play bad at all in Barrie..screened and left out to dry on most..goaltending is set for a few years to come in Owen Sound

Well tonight's game was about as textbook as you can make it.

1/2 on the powerplay 3/3 on the penalty-kill.

Which was all good things to see, take the 2 miscues out of the game and it's a 5-0 victory. CV played very well in net tonight and really looked good especially when we got pinned in our own end at times.

Now we look to tomorrow and the Frontenacs.

The one thing I have noticed thus far early on this season is that the team has done a very good job at becoming very creative ways of getting themselves out of little hiccups in the early stages of games, say for the games against Hamilton and Mississauaga where they really took their game plan to us and got us off our game.

Since those games the team has really started to show different looks and continue to get results and that will pay off in big ways down the road in this long season. Onwards to tomorrow and the Frontenacs another matchup against a team we haven't seen in nearly 2 years.

If they continue to play this lunchbox style of hockey I think we will see a very good showing.

(Side-note keep in mind the Storm were missing some key players to injuries and illness) so let's not get a false sense of security where the Storm won't be as short-handed for options forever this season, but nevertheless sometimes you have to make the most of your opportunities when you get the chance.

I thought the team played a little tighter in front of Votary last night. #10 in particular played a more solid game. He started off great but had been slipping lately. Hopefully his time sitting in the middle of the bench has woken him up. I didn't see much difference in Votary's game except for the help he got.

I’d keep playing George until he has a bad game, the team seems like they play better with him in the net

Team is rolling. 6 points in three games, amazing.

However, my rant about player #9 and selfishness was confirmed ten fold today. I was there today and watching the bench closely. The last five minutes of that game was unreal in terms of that argument.

Are you saying he is defying the coach and staying on to long?? Or is this what the coach wants?
