We may see a return to 6 d once Lawrence returns.
Still not clear what the injury with Lawrence is. In Greg Cowan's articles it has been classified as an arm injury which hopefully means it's not related to the shoulder. They've been waiting on an MRI to get imaging to confirm what the exact injury is. He looked great to start the year and it would be huge to get him back.

7-2 what's up with DaKnights?
Poor scouting eventually catches up with you. The Knights have been able to dodge it because they have basically had teams where you open the gate and send out the next 5. They didn't replace the one person that built those teams. Lindsay Hofford

The Knights scouting team beyond the obvious picks is actually sub par

Doesn't matter if it's a down year for the Knights, beating them will always be sweet. Another great effort for the boys. These early wins and building consistency will pay off down the road, especially banking points on their division rivals early.

Love the scoring by committee going on, and of course our captain feeling better with that C on every night.

Reuniting the top line of Barlow, Petrovsky and Guindon has made a huge difference. That line looks dangerous every time they're on the ice and they are playing with a lot of confidence. Adding Papais to the line with Goure and Burroughs has really solidified the second line, especially with Lawrence out. The top 6 is looking really strong right now.

There's something not right with Brochu.

He looked, well , ordinary last night, except one of his famous cat- like lunging saves.

I wonder if his injury is still bothering him.

They'll need him to be spot on the rest of the way .

Dickinson is as advertised, big , fast, dynamic. A fun player to watch.

Mailloux looked to be shaking off the afterglow of the NHL. His footspeed wasn't there .

Nice to see you here PP31.

Agreed on all fronts, and Papais gives me big Liam Heelis vibes. Such a useful and versatile player. Plays like he's always been here.

The Knights are definitely still a team that can play, but they're in a unique situation that doesn't come along very often, which is that they don't have that elite line that can take over games like they have in the past.

Last night was a good example of the differences between the Attack and Knights. Our top lines were able to put pressure on the Knights for big stretches of the game, where as London looked very much disorganized and not the typical Knights opponent of old. To the point last night where you could see them try anything to get their game going and the Attack just boxed them out.

Out of the 2 goals the Knights did get they were both defensive miscues. The Knights goaltending looked shakey and the boys were able to capitalize on that multiple times.

As for the Attack side of the game we took advantage of key points and situations where the opponent looked like they got caught running around in their zone. There were definitely a couple of times where the defensive side of the game wasn't perfect and the Knights made sure they capitalized on those opportunities but for the most part the guys were able to put pressure on London and keep them away from the danger areas and off the scoreboard. A tidy little win before another big test in the doubleheader weekend in Erie.

Papais has been a win double.

He has been an Attack killer in past, so it's nice we don't face him anymore.

He has a wicked finish in tight to the net, as does Burroughs. A Storm poster said we'd love him, and he thought he could net 25 G this season .

We've got two legitimate PP lines now, which is awesome to watch .

Deni Goure with his best game so far this season .
That whole line of Goure, Burroughs and Papais was easily the best for the Attack last night. Came out flat in the first period but were pretty dominant through the final 40 minutes. Goure was definitely the stand out player.

Also, Lawrence sounds like he will be returning to the lineup Thursday against Barrie. I hope they leave the line of Goure, Burroughs and Papais alone. I'd like to see Lawrence shift to the third line with Byrant and lengthen the line up. If they can get three lines rolling with some consistency the offense will be tough to shut down.

Pretty ugly performance last night in Erie. Boys need to bring it every night in this league, no reason to get outplayed by a team playing there third game in three days

Not sure what it is but they can't string back to back games together in Erie. Last time was 2010 and we've had a few decent teams since then. Best idea is forget that game and get ready for the Colts. I feel bad for Votary he's played good enough to be 3-0 instead of 1-2

I thought the weekend played out pretty nicely all things considered.

To beat the Knights Wednesday night at home by a 7-2 final and the go to Erie and split the weekend to finish with 4 out of 6 points, I would call that a successful week for this club.

Would it have been nice to sweep the week absolutely, but in some cases you have to look at the bigger picture. We still maintain top spot in the division and have a chance to put a bit of breathing room.in the conference this week with games against the Colts, Storm and Frontenacs.

If this team can get in a groove and take 4 out of 6 point every week in games where we have 3 in 3 or 3 in 4 weeks. I'll take that as a fan hands down.

Excited to see what the line up will look like tomorrow night with the anticipated return of Lawrence. His return will be a huge boost. So much depth with his return and the addition of Papais. A full line up is going to be exciting, wondering who will be scratches at this point, a lot of tough calls. Like AttackSound said, 4 of 6 is always good but that performance on Sunday was dismal at best when you are playing a team you should beat that is playing their third game in three nights. I'm going to point out two ongoing issues that I see. One we have been discussing already this year, and one is something a few of us discussed and agreed on last year during the playoffs, and for me they kind of go hand in hand.

The powerplay and player #9's ice time and shift lengths. We had five powerplays in that 3-1 loss game to Eerie when the score was ether tied or within one goal either way. Scoring a pp goal could change the entire outcome of that game. PP is killing this team in close games, last year and already this year. I noticed they are trying a few different things with the exception of player 9 staying on the ice for the entire pp every single pp the last 3-4 games, even if he already had one of his normal two minute shifts prior to the penalty. I don't get how the coaching staff allows this and/or thinks its the answer when it is obviously not working. Some of it is also selfishness of the player I believe, because he will never change on the fly and if there is a whistle late in the PP he he turns and ignores any line change happening to go line up even if a player is coming out to take his spot. I had a clear view of the selfish aspect watching that amazing 7-2 beatdown of London live. Near the end of the game we had a PP and the coaching staff threw Rogers out there to obviously give the kid some experience on the pp in a game that was already in control. However, 9 just popped over the boards as usual as soon as the whistle blew on the penalty and almost pretended like he had no idea what was happening and literally had to be called off so Rogers could stay. Likely wanted to get his hattrick but perhaps could maybe take a page out of Captain Colby's book. If you recall last year, Joey Hishon saying he told Barlow to go out late to try to get the hattrick but Barlow declined and told him to give someone else a chance. That's the sign of a leader. 9 is wearing a letter but not really leading by example in my eyes.

I said the same thing last year in playoffs. 9 is a great player but would be far more effective if the coaching staff gets a handle on his shift lengths. There is no way he should be taking regular 2 mins shifts and even longer when staying on for special teams after just playing an entire shift. The first half of his shifts are generally great but then the bent over resting on his stick on his knees starts and odd man chances or breakaways come at us sometimes resulting in a penalty. Just my opinion and I've watched a few of the games on CHL replay to confirm my observations. There is no doubt that 9 is our D1 guy. I just feel he would be far more effective if shift lengths were shortened.

I would agree with you on this 100%. I also have notice this last year and again this year as well
