Sens drafted very well under him as a GM.

Hired in 2016.

2016 draft:
Nothing (Logan Brown busted, Lajoie had a cup of coffee, as did Dahlen)

2017 draft:
Formenton (out of the league due to HC rape)
Batherson hit.

2018:
Brady Tkachuk
Busted an additional 1st and 2nd round pick.

2019:
Shane Pinto

2020 is the hit with two top 5 picks in Stutzle and Sanderson.

2021 nothing - Tyler Boucher.

That's not good drafting. The draft power during that stretch was high.

Yup
How'd that work out for the team?
How'd that work out for.. him?

I did not say he's good GM. I said the Sens drafted well lately outside of Tyler Boucher.

Beside I can't wait to be at the 40 games mark ...... the early season hot takes make this board 120% unreadable.

Half this board must continue playing at the casino after they doubled their money in the first hour until they got nothing left 3 hours later.

if he continues Gary will relocate the team to some crappy US market.
Owners relocate.
NHL only relocates if there is no owner.

Jesus who knew the Sens had so many closeted fans after all??

Their scouting has been massively overrated.

They hit on Tkachuk, Stutzle and Sanderson but they were all picked inside the top 5
.

Their record otherwise isn't very good.
Must be nice to at least have that.

And how did they get that draft power? And the drafting looks pretty good to me.

As we know all too well, hitting on those top 5 picks is the most important part of scouting.

Two of those came in the same draft and the other as a result of our bad choice at the time.

Luck is always a factor, but let's not act like all of those players didn't go exactly where they were supposed to go.

Wasn't some great act of scouting here. They just did what most teams do in a similar position.

They also happened to suck when it was good to suck.

They got that draft power by being managed by an incompetent GM, never putting together a good roster, and by not drafting well at all.

How is that good drafting? They literally busted 12!!! 1st and 2nd round picks.

Meh…top 5 youre pretty much just making obvious picks.

How different things look if LA takes Stutzle at 2 (as they should have) and Ducks took Sanderson at 4 (as they should have).

Byfield and Drysdale, that looks entirely worse.

look let's settle on getting Tkachuk for nothing and Dorion can go elsewhere.

They had multiipe firsts in some drafts so they traded for them. I only see 6 busts.

Bernard-Docker could still develop as an okay 26th overall pick. Unlikely but i've seen far worse at this rank.

Ridly Creig is a very very good prospect but hey let's cherry pick.

Either way, when you look at the totality of Dorion’s reign as GM of the Senators, he was bad, worse than the one who shall remain nameless if you ask me.

That doesn't mean he didn't do some good things but as I've said before, better GMs have been fired for a whole lot less and a lot earlier.

Don't tell that to Marc Bergevin plz. He could finally figure it out with another team.

Stutzle, Sanderson and Ridley Creig is an awesome draft year no matter where you draft.

Also it's laughable that Tkachuk is now the obvious choice since according to this board the obvious choice was Zadina. 5 years of if we would not have drafted JK we would have drafted Zadina cause that was the obvious choice to BT was the obvious choice overnight.

  1. Logan Brown
  2. Jonathan Dahlen
  3. Shane Bowers
  4. Alex Formenton
  5. Jacob Bernard-Docker
  6. Johnny Tychonick
  7. Lassi Thomson
  8. Mads Sogard (he's still developing but he's not good)
  9. Tyler Kleven
  10. Egor Sokolov
  11. Tyler Boucher
  12. Benjamin Roger
So sorry, 12 busts.

I didn't include Greig as a bust.

Bernard-Docker was on waivers and no one claimed him. He hasn't developed at all, he's a bust at this point.
