It's hard to even try and predict something with the D lines both teams are rolling.

Either way, I'm excited.

This is the 4th straight year we've opened against Edmonton and 5th year in 6. And the 9th straight year we've opened against an Alberta team. Last time we didn't open against an Alberta team was SJ in 2013.

It's like the Philly NYE game tradition, except bad. And still happening.
Yeah, it actually makes me look less forward to the season opener. It's boring to play the same team to open the season every year.

Give us a unique team in the season opener. Doesn't even have to be from the east or anything like that. How about Seattle?

for whatever reason the team has continually refused to use Boesers most lethal weapon on the PP, his one timer

I get it if his wrist was off with it for a while, but he was so good with it in his rookie year. So much p***yfooting around with him and Petey when you have two deadly one timers on either halfwall. It was almost a joke how often Edler would look off Brock for the pass, and a good remark recently from someone that Peteys clapper is used more as a threat than a weapon. I miss the days when Jason Garrison would willingly and joyously shoot into the block, hurt yourself if you want, we’ll get it through eventually

I dont like our philosophy for the PP for these reasons largely

Stillman - Burroughs is probably our most physical pairing since Alex Edler was in his early 20s

Yeah this isn't the first time they've had Hog in there over Pod, not sure why.

I like Hog but Pod seems like the much better choice, I wonder what the coaches are seeing.
Going forward is anyone's guess, but Hoglander has been the better scorer to date.

2 PP goals in pre-season. He deserves the spot until someone else does.

With Hughes seemingly ready to play it seems Rathbone will be a healthy scratch. Actually makes sense given that there's probably a mandate to go after the Oilers and that's the whole reason for Stillman's existence.

I don't recall seeing Garland playing the net spot on the Canucks power play. I been hoping to see this for a while because he is so shifty and quick, the goalie is going to moving around quite a bit trying to keep track of him, so the goalie will be out of position when Garland makes his passes to the slot or wings. That's the theory anyway. Boeser should get some good looks with Garland being a righty. The goalie won't be able to see passes out to Boeser.
