Horvat loves playing the Oilers and it's a contract year. He'll score the first goal of the game.
Nothing's changed. No Rathbone. Doesn't sound like they called up Karlsson. Weirdly, I haven't seen anything that Klimovich has been sent down.
Klimovich was sent down and Dries was recalled.
Even without Mikheyev that’s the best group of forwards we’ve had in years.
Excited to watch them play this year.
I am really starting to loathe the media here. It is just nonsensical gibberish at this point aside from Sat Shah... he seems to be the only voice of reason lately.Vancouver media already creating shit storms with OEL not skating this morning, BB clarifies he will be 100% playing.
Downside to only having one team in the “big 4” leagues. So much airtime to fill everyday.I am really starting to loathe the media here. It is just nonsensical gibberish at this point aside from Sat Shah... he seems to be the only voice of reason lately.

Such a good post honestly!! It is incredible how negative the media is. I should say In Macintyre is still quite good and balanced. Drance made me laugh so hard this am on Marek's show when he said the Canucks North South game on defense is a concern. It was stellar under BB last season, so why would that change? Maybe they were very complacent in pre season, but the reality is, they have puck movers who can move the puck up the ice.The funny thing about the media is that they're generous with their praise other teams, Drance even gave Tanev a Norris vote for Calgary. It's a real weird abusive relationship with the Canucks that I haven't seen in other markets.
Just waiting for the moment when the team goes 'Wayne Simmonds' on Drance for all the bullshit he constantly spews

I prefer the old balanced reporting. The team has a lot of promise, but all they talk about are the negative takes. Always. When have they ever taken a positive take lately? It's always "The team needs everything to go right for them, so they're a bubble team... f*** man every team needs this. LA needed career years from their aging stars last season, including Jonathan Quick. Edmonton needed their D to over perform, CGY needed career years from JG and MT... every team needs everything to go right for them. Let's assume the Canucks get a more balanced year with BB, and not a >50% PK to start the season. They were absolutely destroyed by a bad coach, bad covid policies, a break at the absolute wrong time, and got one career year from JT Miller.Would you prefer Toronto media where they overrate everyone and everything before proving anything?
I wouldn't. I see it with the Blue Jays and it's sickening.

I can't imagine how anyone could follow this team over the last seven years and conclude that Vancouver's media is "too hard" or "too critical" of the team when the exact opposite has been true.
Yes, absolutely. And we only started to see the faintest critiques of management once they were in their final death throes. We have probably the softest major-market media in the NHL.
It's insanely tame here relative to Toronto/Montreal/Philly etc. Or even Edmonton, where Draisaitl ended up in a yelling match with an asshole reporter last season.
The last 8 years have basically been an ass-kissing fest from the media toward incompetent management and coaches, and toward players putting in piss-poor performances.
