Rumor: Nylander like Matthews unextended. Nothing to see here.

So Marner had more points and better +/-,top PK,the guy out there to protect in the final minute of a game,Key PP guy and they both had 1 GWG each.

But you prefer Willy because he has more speed?
And how many extra wins did that get us?

And lets not forget that game breaking speed also resulted in a lot of chute pulling and strolls behind the net that resulted in passes to nowhere.

Leafs would miss Marner way more than Willy.

Marner isn't going anywhere. He has been the most consistent player in last 3 years lolll..... he's legit a top 3 winger! Nylander and his lazy back checking can f off. Trade him already.

Damn him and his being instrumental in the team winning 2 of the first 3 games of that series.

Even if you want to cut out those first 3 games to try to fit your narrative they had similar points the rest of the way and Marner was the superior 2 way player.

There is a group of people here that have decided 1 guy chokes in the playoffs and the other guy is great and it doesn’t bare out in the stats.

You really don't know why Ottawa wouldn't take that offer seriously?

They have Zub, who is 27 and Batherson, who is 25, both locked up until the end of the 2026-27 and combined they make less than Nylander is allegedly asking for.

Zub is a solid top four defensemen with size who can move the puck and Batherson is a big forward who skates well, can put up points and he gets better each season.

It would be incredibly stupid for them to trade those two assets for William Nylander, and I say that as a fan of William Nylander.

That would be an absurd over payment by Ottawa.

It's funny reading posts by Leafs fans.

We have more Leafs fans arguing with other Leafs fans and sometimes it gets down right nasty.

Don't see that with fans of other teams.

Cheering for a loser team and organization for so damn long, must do that to us.

Here's a clue: it's 5 on 5, not 1 on 1.
 
Sorry, but the Leafs deserve this. They should have traded him the first time he held out and they grossly overpaid him relative to his stats and bargaining position.

Since the Leafs stuck to their core, "we believe" when winners would have broken them up long ago and opened up cap space for competitors, they are now in trouble.

Leafs fsns don't deserve this but really, yeah we do. Especially us long suffering suckers.

Our new GM seems to be a patsy too, a placeholder. You think he would learn after the beating he took in Calgsry.

As for talks not going well. Of course they're not.

Nylander and his agent are not stupid. They're waiting to see what happens with Matthews.

I agree and sadly if Matthews walks after this season, I won't blame him. Just like I didn't blame JT.

Am disappointed with the inactivity to date. No sense of urgency. I am having serious doubts with our new GM...seems like another Dubas like puppet. Disgraceful...

Well the team seems to do a lot better defensively when that 1 guy Marner is on the ice than that other 1 guy Nylander.

It’s funny if Nylander is great in the playoffs and Marner disappears why doesn’t that show up statistically?

Trev is full of activity but garners no results....what a disappointment so far.
