Rumor: Nylander like Matthews unextended. Nothing to see here.

None, but a big problem vs Florida was inability to break out of your zone. Better D will help with that not to mention you open up cap to bring in a forward.

Or you know, we can continue to just run it back until they all f***ing get old and retire lol
I think this is actually a possibility

Letting them walk in free agency might be a blessing.

Vaive lost in 2nd. round twice.

And that was a horrible team.

Just goes to show you ...
that I'm right? :DD:DD

Of all the loser-ish dumb shit the Leaf's fan base has come up with, counting round wins as if anyone really cares might just be the most loser-ish.
You see, the thing about team success is...it's measured in Stanley Cup Finals rounds. 4 specifically
As an example, Las Vegas won 4 rounds this past year and their reward was a thing called the Stanley Cup.

And nylander was on the ice for for 9 goal 56% of 5v5 tampa goal and 6 of those 9 goal was result of a direct nylander mistake. 40 ,% of 5v5 tampa goal could be avoid just by nylander doing his job defensive side
Vs
Marner who practically dont giving anything defensively
You have to remember too. Kneelander's is driving that 2nd line offence from the wing. Tavares offers very little help out there for him. Lots of pressure on Willie.

The guys dobus put on the 3rd and 4th line are basically there to just waste a minute and a half or two until the first two lines are rested enough to jump back on ice and nothing more

Maybe we should give the Big Three a break and start trashing our ex gm. For the team he built and the style they played. (his vision)

They both have major warts for sure. But Marner is still the guy you trade

Marner is the guy you building around because hes playing the right way

Who the 1st guy to backchecking?
Who the last foward moving out of offensive zone?
Whos rhe 1st guy to come help the d when they struggle in transition game ?

Marner made a lot of small thing all the time we dont really see, who doesn't appear on scoresheet but extremely important.
That's some impressive imaginary stats you have there.

Nylander had been on the ice for 9 of 16 5v5 goal (with 1 empty net goal), you can easily find it

Game
Gm#2 when his 4 teammate was working to get back a bouncing puck, whats nylander did? Was outside of defensive, was wait and see... if hes doing the same thing of his teammate, this goal never happened

Gm 2 tb goal #1 he made a great backcheck a was in perfect position to protect the middle ice, holl goes on kucherov, gio pinched stamkos and what nylander did unstead and bloxking passing lane in middle ice? For no reason, he pinched on Stamkos too and gave up all space of the world to cole and point...

Gm 3 # 1 goal... just soft backcheck

Goal #3 wait and see, he just had to pressure Raddysh and he would never had any chance to score.

Gm 4 gm #2... him and tavares was cheating ... jt stick at blue line with D, nylander move out of leafs zone when leafs never be close to have control of the puck. After he tried to repair his mistake by an other one and get caugh to be too low allowing all space of the world to Sergachev... everything happening because he tried to cheat offensivly.

Gm 6# only tampa goal, let Stamkos all alone in front of the net to rush on D eithout the puck...

Still imaginary? 6 of 15 ( i removed the empty net goal) could be avoid by nylander commit defensivly

By driving if you meaning cheating defensivly to try to get as much of possible breakway or huge offensive situation youre 100% right

And the Florida Panthers won 3 rounds this past year. Their reward was...
being the last team to lose. A footnote.

The only number of round wins that matters is getting to 4 in a single year. Or did the Islanders get to redeem their two separate 2 round win punch cards at the drive through window for a Stanley cup?

Someone should let the Sharks know, 14 round wins in the cap era, so many cups!

This is just rambling opinion.

Bruins set the record for points, so what?
Nothing about this team shows me they can win in the playoffs, they're not built for the rough stuff.

They're too small, the stars are cottonelle soft, they have to pushback, no heart. Enjoy the highlight goals on a sleepy Tuesday night vs bottom feeders, playoffs tell the real story

Ok forgot winning the cup, how about a sniff at some playoff success. This team’s postseasons have been pathetic to this point

What does any of this have to do with the recent trend of glorifying past losers over present losers?

Those two clauses are mutually exclusive. The only meaningful threshold of playoff success is the Stanley Cup.

Nylander got the short stick last time because he signed first and got left behind. He got the short stick this time again because they got full NMCs kicking in at the same time as his modified NMC. Do you think Matthews and Marner know their agents set it up this way? It'd be a shitty feeling that your agent was cut throat at the expense of your buddy.

No doubt Nylander wants to end that cycle.

That’s BS, most would be happy if they made it to the ECF or Stanley Cup Final, at least show something. This team has only showed it can fail spectacularly

No argument.

Their 3 highest paid players absolutely stink when the games get tough.

Lets add up their goals against Florida.
Tavares - 0
Matthews - 0
marner - 1

You can't make this stuff up.

You want to know something, Tavares scored as many goals against Montreal as Matthews did against Florida, and Tavares played 2 minutes a 53 seconds that series.

he plays the modern game and takes advantage of the two line passes and his skill set.

Lets be clear Nylander is an elite offensive player but its not a player your building a team around...its a complementary piece in a good team. Nylander is a phil Kessel new generation.

If you can fit him in your team and your cap space, its good but its not a player youre keeping whatever what.
