For who??? Hopefully you’re not Brad TrelivingI’d give up either Minten or a 1st + Steeves (11 points in 9 AHL games) and Klingberg who’s an expiring deal.

I didn't realize a trade request means you have to move said player immediately. I doubt a move happens until the New Year unless it's a deadline type offer.I didn't realize Nov 11 was the trade deadline day.
Flames fans are delusional if they think they are getting a 1st standalone for Zadorov. The only way that happens is if they take on a capdump in return to accommodate a trade (like a Klingberg).
And why does Cslgary agree to this?Toronto Maple Leafs
Nikita Zadorov
Chris Tanev ($2.25 million retained - 50%)
Calgary Flames
John Klingberg
Ryan Reaves
Fraser Minton
Islanders' 2024 3rd round pick
Sounds terrific.Zadorov has been great in his time as a Flame. He was second in even strength goals by a D in the whole league last year. He was coming off a bad season when he was traded before. D are in high demand at the deadline and UFAs time and time again are valuable assets in a cap world.

If Chiarot got a 1st round pick. Zedorov surely will cost as much if not more.what kind of value would you be looking at?
Would love to get him on the Leafs somehow
If Chiarot got a first, you should be the last fan base saying what Zadorov would return. He’s a better player than Ben ever was.You are worse than Habs fans. A 1st for Zadorov? hahahahahaha
As someone who is closer to a Leafs fan than a Flames fan (grew up in Toronto, live in BC) this has the appearance of a Leaf fan taking three contracts of little, no or possibly negative value that he'd like to see the Leafs free of, adding a late first and wanting to send that to the Flames for Zadorov and a retained Tanev.Toronto Maple Leafs

Both CGY and EDM are terrible teams.Lol you are acting like the Flames are begging teams to take him. He is an asset with value that teams love for the playoffs. Teams don't give a shit if they are helping Calgary as long as they are improving themselves. This is an auction.
Also hilarious seeing an oilers fan talk about other teams being terrible
Because they suck and adding more terrible players will help them secure a top 3 draft pick ? Calgary isn't just terrible on their own, they're terrible with Edmonton. Don't you want to be the best of the very worst the NHL has to offer? Why be mediocre at being a garbage team? If you're going to be bad - and you are bad - be the very best you can be.....And why does Cslgary agree to this?
No. We don't need a 5'9" smurf as we already have one, currently injured, in Pelletier.Who says no?
Flames get nick Roberson, John klinberg, and a second
Leafs zadorov and a seventh
Knies or Minten+ would be on the table here for one of Tanev or Zadorov.
As an outsider, I don't think this is a bad start. Hirvonen or Robertson and cap dumps just wouldn't be appealing to me if I was Calgary, unless the return is much, much less then one of two top half RHD.
I see other teams beating an offer like that. That's just me though. Niemela is young and still has time to find his niche here, but he seems like a dime a dozen undersized puck moving D. I'd see Calgary valuing him more then other teams due to not having an RHD prospect, but I don't see every other interesting team having a better prospect available that Calgary could use as well.ahh no they wouldn’t. Not from a leafs perspective. I could see Neimela and a 2nd or 3rd being in the ballpark though.
Yes your logic is sound . There is a bid war or will beDefensemen almost always go for more than people expect. There’s a number of teams looking to bolster their bluelines and a dearth of proven D available. He’ll get more than predicted imo.
2nd is an absolute for sure or more . He is looking for a new home , not a stop gap. Gives the team an advantage. 3rd is ridiculousA 5th defenseman on an expiring contract, who has requested a trade. I don't think the return is going to be overly special. If they got a 2nd that'd be incredible. I'd put his value more around a 3rd.
Kulikov got a third
Domi got a 2nd +
Bertuzzi got a conditional 1st
Granlund got a 2nd rounder
Eller got a 2nd
McCabe got a first
Jeanot got like 6 picks
None of those players are as good as Zadorov and that was in a MUCH deeper draft
Absolutely not. Nowhere close.Knies or Minten+ would be on the table here for one of Tanev or Zadorov.

Lafferty got an additional 5th though. I don't think that's a huge addition.McCabe also came with Lafferty and 2 5ths and 50% retention AND has term on his term on his contract
Ok. I'm sure Calgary will do better then what ever you think Toronto should offer then.No they wouldn't, not a f***ing chance especially not Knies the way he's playing.
