Still believe in his potential despite all the missed time. For the first time in his pro career he'll be coming into next year with minimal expectations.

Something needs to change this offseason though, will he change his playing style to limit injuries?

I heard Bunkis/Mirtle (fan 590) suggest possibly using Robertson in a trade to get out from under Murray's contract.

Would you entertain that?

I'm not saying that we should cast him off, but N.R. will have another season of not being able to crack the leafs line line-up due to Bertuzzi, Domi, and Knies being in front. Also Robertson has no business being a match-up / checker. The only way he sees action with the Leafs is if TOR has major injury issues.

If this player didn't have a successful brother in the NHL, would we even be talking about him anymore? Probably not.
I truly hope he becomes something but " it ain't looking good", as they say.
A new start somewhere else might be best for him and the Leafs org.

I’d rather not.

I have a feeling he’s going to end up on a Verhaeghe trajectory.

Knowledgeable fans would know that his potential has nothing to do with his brother.
If we have patience with him we’re gonna have ourselves a player.

Yes, they signed players who will block his promotion to the NHL, but only for 1 year.

Let's see if he can play at least 50 games in a season.

I think he has a good chance at winning a spot in training camp.

I imagine he's traded at some point before the season starts.

Over who?
Who is better than him on LW right now? Knies and Bertuzzi but then there should be a spot beside Domi and Jarnkrok to fight for.

Crazy how his injury last year completely destroyed his potential apparently despite having one of the highest goals per game ever in the OHL as a 19 year old and a top 10 goals per game ever in the AHL as a 20 year old (small sample size).

If he can stay healthy he's potentially a Caufield level goal scorer, but we need him to play defense too.

Jason is 6ft3.5 with wheels and a shot .. Nick is 5ft7 with a shot .. huge difference in SKILLS .. there will ZERO interest .. a wasted Dubie pick

I think he will eventually be traded as well as size and durability will continue to be an issue. IMO

However he is coming off major shoulder surgery that has a 6 month recover process, which projects him to possibly be ready by training camp.

Not sure trading him while on IR where he currently sits for the Leafs would return much value.

Brayden Point scored 51 goals last year, is the same height as Robertson (5'10") and had less goal scoring ability than Robertson did at a young age.

people need to stop with this stupid crap.

What does Point have to do with Robertson?
They don't seem like similar players at all, IMO.

I don't think he starts the season with the Leafs, but he is waiver exempt, so I'd consider it, but would rather use a draft pick with Murray since Robertson has high potential.

Nick maybe 5ft10 with huge blades otherwise when i saw him he is 5ft8 and slow .. he does have decent edges but no straight line passing speed .. you need SIZE and SPEED as a W but you can lack SIZE as a C if you have Braydon's SPEED .. you are comparing a top 10 guy in league in flat out straight line foot speed

Kane has neither size nor speed, neither does Kucherov, and they were the best wingers in the last 10 years... Kind of throws off your theory.

Add Marchand to this...

It appears to be the best winger in the league it is better to not have size or speed.

Add Panarin, Debrincat, Caufield, Marchessault, etc...

His value is super low now. I'd rather keep him.

Still think he has potential, but don't see where he fists in the lineup

i don't think you can call a 50 goal scorer in the OHL a wasted pick. He can shoot, I don't think he's a wasted pick, we just need to parlay him into something useful for our team. He'll be a good player elsewhere. I think Arizona is the spot. They have a ton of picks and need players.
