New Jack Edwards Controversy

Outrage over nothing, IMO. This was Jack's typical quirky, awkward, and bizarre way of trying to communicate that Maroon is a truck. In a way, it's a backhanded compliment. Nothing to see here, people should stop overreacting to everything constantly.

Whats more amazing at this point, and shows peoples true colors, is that this thread pops up every year with pages and pages of personal insults directed at Jack.

And why.... becuase you don't like his commentary. He's a local broadcaster calling the game for the local team. And because of that he's some horrible human being that a majority of HF posters outside of new englad feel justied and oh so rightous to personaly attack and insult

Yet he makes a crack about a professional athletes weight (while simultaneously acknowledging his three stanley cups and how valuable a pkayer he is) and thats the tipping point.....

Are you ignorant (or is he) of the fact that his broadcasts often go far beyond the limits of his village (New England area)?

He’s not a horrible human being because he calls games for the Bruins. I’m not saying he’s a horrible person at all actually, but did you ever think why he’s brought up more than any announcer? No, it’s not because he calls games for Boston. It’s because he’s a jackass.

He and Brick called a really good game tonight; insightful , pretty honest and colourful. The Bruins lose and Edwards still sells it at the end like you just were lucky enough to watch something special.

This drives me crazy if im listening to a radio feed....it's already a massive difference listening to DD rather than RJ for the Sabres now. Tell me what's happening on the ice you are a play-by-play announcer not a storyteller.

The real truth is we hired Jack as douche bag detector, we send him out night after night and just wait for him to trigger a group of DB’s, he’s actually pretty good at flushing them out, they typically are found in small groups crying about how awful of a human being he is, and how he needs to be fired immediately.

That is true.

But I also think people attacking or defending his homerism isn't even the issue.

For me, the point is that his broadcasting style is very sensationalist. It's why I keep saying he's much more fitted for the wwe because they pretty much demand that with their product.

But when you input that style of broadcasting onto a pro sports broadcast, it comes across as cringy.

You're waiting for stone cold's intro music to start, and have him jump onto the ice and stunner a goalie or something.
