Firstly, what makes you think skinny people aren't hated? You obviously have a problem with them.I see all the skinny, never-been-hated folks came out to comment how sad they think it is to get upset by this. Blame it on cancel culture or something
Why is it always the most privileged in society that feel the need to dispel the shortcomings and tribulations others have to go through?
Whats hilarious is 90% of these posters would fold like a cheap suit if offended by something that actually bothers them. But since it doesnt involve them, ' its just a millionaire being called fat guys whats the big deal '
id ask those who think this is nothing what offends them and how much they make but... nobody cares about them. but MAN do they care about others being offended or not and love dictating that for them
Except no one wants to be ugly and being heavy is an asset for a power forward. When it comes to the game, it's more akin to the length of the stick, if someone plays with an unusually long or short stick, they get attention for it, someone might even joke about it."Yikes, that person is so ugly.... but pretty kind!"
Let's all cheer for excellent sugar coating!
I guess here in Boston theres a connection with play by play guys and pizza.
I give you the late, may he rest in peace, great Jerry Remy.
seems to me like the idea is that the players can talk about it, and broadcasters should maybe focus more on the play-by-play and less on taking unprofessional, agonizing jabs at the players.
Jack Edwards seems to think he's, like, Shaq and Charles Barkley-level and goes directly in on guys he should absolutely not be going in on because it's not his lane
Yes I understand that and most announcers are homers to a certain extent but Edwards takes the cake. I couldn't believe this call during the Leafs Bruins playoff series. Repeat guys a twit.Homer? You do realize he works for a Boston sports channel right. Just because Sportsnet picks up the NESN feed nationally in Canada doesn't mean Jack isn't still announcing this game to and for Bruins fans in the New England area. He doesn't really give a shit how Jonny Johnson the Leaf fan in Mississauga feels about him or if they think he's a "homer".

When has any broadcaster said any of those things about a player?I just think there is irony in that this is a site that calls Marchand a rat and makes fun of his nose, calls Matthews 'nostrils', and generally trashes players along these lines but are also thinking someone playfully doing the same is abhorrent.
To me all that says is you think it's ok behind a keyboard but not saying it where people know who you are which is cowardly. And to top it off, after what was clearly playfully taunting him, he then compliments him and his success in his career.
Just people looking to feel superior to others is all this outrage is.
Would've at least been funnier than whatever it was he triedAt least he didn't call him Fat Maroon
I’m surprised some fat group hasn’t demanded Edwards have to resign after those comments. Nothing he said was offensive, and maybe he will inspire some people to put down their pizzas.

On something so dumb. So miniscule. A complete nothing burger. Theres no controversy here, no matter how much people are trying their best.

I'm the 2nd post of page 21. So I'm less offended than you are...25 pages? Seriously?!

René Lecavalier, we miss you. He's the team broadcaster. It's not really his job to be impartial, he's calling Bruins hockey regionally. He's no worse than basically any of the homers calling games in Canada.

He ain’t wrong.Never Change Mione, never change...
