Hey buddy, he's not making $8 million yet.

Yes, I know that. But it's not exactly thrilling to see him play what I consider to be his worst stretch of hockey I've seen him play right before and right after inking the fattest goalie contract in existence.

Can anyone tell me what Lundqvist did wrong in this game? He got beat on a deflection, a breakaway and a pure snipe. Talbots gotten beaten on these kinds of things and no one *****es about them. Are you complaining about the number being 3? Or are you complaining about him giving up "softies?"

You can make a case by case argument for the majority of his 100+ goals allowed all day long. Bottom line is regardless of the team most *average* goalies arent giving up 3+ or 4+ in half their freaking starts and he is.

Just because its a good shot or a breakaway doesn't mean he ahs to give up every single one when the game is close. And he pretty much has.

I posted earlier, so I'm not going into much detail
He should have been better positioned on the first goal.
Second and third were not directly attributable to Hank's play, but he didn't make the big save either.

Very few goalies can stop Atkinson like that. Atkinson is a little bit like Zuke. On the first one Hank was alone. No Ds to support him. We got 2 Ds and I find it strange that none of them pushed Duby. In fact none of them were even near Duby. He was all alone. And yes Girardi was hurt, but still i expect Our D to do their damn job.

On the train on the way back from the game. Thoughts:

Lundqvist looks uncomfortable. It's a weird scenario where I don't think the goals were his fault, but there were a few plays where it seemed like he was fighting the puco, or it glanced off the edge of his glove or similar.

Girardi was good, McDonagh was fine. Stralman was awful. Staal had a bad game. Wasn't thrilled with Moore either. I noticed that the D would not engage in the defensive zone- the lack of physicality was gross.

Kremer looked really good before the misconduct. Nash had a pretty good game. None of the other forwards stood out as good. There was a lot of floating around in our own zone.

For large periods of the game the Rangers seemed very lethargic, even while getting chances and holding the puck for long periods of time. I found myself wondering which team was more pathetic - the Blue Jackets for allowing us to pin them, or us for losing to them. We also lost way too many puck battles.

We had a steep edge in face off percentage at first, but it faded dramatically as the game went on. This was likely a reason for us not playing as well as we did in the first.

I have to agree that AV's lack of passion is disturbing. Stick up for your players and yourself, AV.
This is not a case of not losing your cool in the heat of great pressure, it is more a complete disinterest.
Not good.

He's played well in his last 3 or 4 games. The defense is putrid in front of him. It's not an excuse it's an observation. I highly doubt that these 30 games are what is going to be Hank in the next 8 years. Hell he still has better numbers than quick last year.

So many posts in every post game thread dedicated to ******** all over Nash's play. He dominates the games is the clear best player on the ice, and so little to say about it...

I get wanting to keep your cool, I do. But call the ref over for a conversation. Just nothing...infuriating to watch.

I am a fan of the team first. I want Hank to get his game back, but, frankly, I don't see it.

Coming on a board full of people that you don't know and questioning their knowledge brings your credibility into question.

Just let people vent. They are frustrated and the goalie is always the easy target. Hank is especially so since getting his contract and fans being used to his past play.

Hopefully, the entire team finds their games and we can start enjoying watching our team a little more.

My credibility is brought into question for calling out people for maki ignorant comments.

If you don't see it then I don't know what to tell you. He's been trending upwards. You can see it in his movements and his reflexes.

I've been a goalie my entire life and I'd be willing to bet it was at a higher level than 99% of the users here. I've never said that before but if I need to back up my credibility then i will. And it doesn't even make my views completely accurate because they are still my opinions. I'm just saying that if you know anything about the position it's simple it see that Hank has been looking better and better since the Tampa game, regardless of results.

AV isn't exactly winning me over, and I'm a pretty patient guy not getting down on Hank or Nash.

Nash showed a pulse for once, so I guess his next big game will be in March.

How is anyone complaining about Lundqvist right now. I'm convinced you people don't watch the game and just see that they scored 3.

totally agreed...can not believe the henrik hate tonight...he was outstanding, how many point blank shots did he stop? OMGZ he didnt stop a breakaway, get rid of him!

I swear some of the arm chair gms here have either never played hockey at any level, or just want to hate him for no reason.

we lost for 1 frikkin reason...we stopped playing after Kreider took that penalty and it killed us.

The frustrating thing with AV is he was brought in to fix the offense, and he hasn't done that while ruining the defense. We were doing well playing zone. Why change it?

I think we should give AV some time to work with the players and acquire proper players for the team next year... This entire season is just a trial run for the most part

I'm surprised we got a point. This team has showed no heart or willingness to battle back. If anyone on this team has showed any of that it was the guy that got thrown out. I almost turned the game off at the beginning of the 3rd. I'm glad I didn't and I'm glad i saw Nash actually give a damn out there. He was involved with all 3 goals. We need him to play like this more often.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. It wasn't broke (the D). Now it is.

It shows you how terrible he has been that that is an actual accomplishment for him this year.

He's been over .900 for the season. The poster I replied too said something like he would feel relieved if Hank could just get over .900

I thought Lundqvist played very well tonight, but I guess I'm in the minority on that one. From what I've seen of Talbot, and he has been been excellent, I don't see him stopping any of the goals, and potentially letting one or two of the saves in.

I don't know what's happening with the defense but I blame Ulf and AV for that. If these 2 get fires I wouldn't shed a tear. But for the love of god don't fire Arniel. His PP is the only reason this season has a shot at being salvaged.
