That's already 34 players... Don't think he even cracks the top 40. Top 50 is a more realistic scenario.

Do you think it's realistic to expect his potential to be a top 5 goal scorer/ point producer in the NHL? That's what Kucherov is right now.

I hope CJ gives Drouin and Galchenyuk at least half a season together to see what they have. I don't have a problem with Patches/Pleks/Gallagher together as another line. Hudon/Danault/Shaw, Lehkonen or MacCarron.

The more I think about it, the more I like our forward group, it's not perfect but should be okay. As long as there's hope they can score if needed, we should be better off then last year.

If Drouin can be the catalyst for Galchenyuk to take the next step. This trade will pay so much dividend.

I remember Drouin when he was a 15YO playing in the Q against the Quebec Remparts in the PO.

All the talks was about MacKinnon and Grigorenko but Drouin was by far the best.

Been a fan since, at the times i never heard about him and i taught he was an overager just burning the league. I was totally mindblown when i saw, after game 1, that he was 15YO. Just a pure ****ing elite talent.

I am confident to say that he is, right now, our best player. Just an amazing talent.

Why can't Drouin catch up to Gaudreau, Kessel, Marchand, Kucherov?

Gaudreau is the only one there I could see him reaching similar levels. Don't know if he has the right environment here to maximize his upside but I wouldn't say its impossible.

Kessel's been among the most productive players over the last 5, 6 years, career PPG in the playoffs and had a Conn Smythe-worthy performance in the Pens first of their back-to-back.

Marchand seems to have really broken out as a top point producer in the league. Kucherov is probably as good as Stamkos right now if not better, putting up higher PPG ratio than P.Kane this season and will be making a case to crack the top group you listed very soon. I'll be very surprised if Drouin reaches the last 3.
