I dont think so.

Too soft, won't contribute enough offensively to cover for his deficiencies, won't be a regular, they'll dress him every once in a while and he'll practice a lot, doubt they send him back so you never know if injuries strike.

lol. You better pay attention ;). No worries, I read it quick.

I was obviously referring to this:

Could of got way more in Tampa too with less taxes. Respect for Shattenkirk! He helped us save our 2nd round pick in the Sergachev deal as Tampa likely needs him to play more than 40 game now ;)

So, you feel that Shattenkirk was the biggest threat to Sergachev not playing 40 games? Not so long ago I heard Stephane Leroux of RDS who is a junior hockey expert say that he thought Sergachev was not ready for the NHL next season. He could be wrong of course.

I could see it. I mean Sustr and Girardi are ****ing terrible. They are rolling the dice on Dotchin, a virtual unknown. He can either rise up or flop hard. It's a bad defence that will have to rely heavily on Hedman. I don't see a legit PP option other than him either. Sergachev has a shot.

I don't think he's ready, nor do I think Tampa plans on it.

If injuries hit, he has a chance. Hope he does so we keep our 2nd rounder!

I'd be surprised honestly.

Though him being a lefty might help him...with Stralman, Girardi, Sustr and Dotchin being RH, I don't think there would've been room for Sergachev on the right side. On the left: Hedman, Cobourn and Koekkeok...maybe he can find a spot.

But if Tampa can manage to do good without him in the line-up, you can bet Yzerman will do everything he can for Sergachev not to hit 40.

It was not a serious comment and was more about how Shattenkirk too less money to go to the team he wanted to play for.

As far as Tampa going after him... Yeah, I think it helps our case that they didn't land Shattenkirk. Lets hope they don't sign Markov! They seem to have a lot of RD but not too many LD. Not sure who can play on the other side

I'm not too sure what Yzerman thinks about the 2nd round pick or if he cares. Tampa has taken a step back with the lost of Drouin, Bishop, Garrison, and Filppula. Hard to say where they are next season. That D don't look too good to me and AV is not consistent in net. I think Sergachev is needed on the back end to play LD.

No way he plays 40. First he's not ready and second, Yzerman values that 2nd pick much more than having Serge play 40 games. No brainer for him really.

I doubt Yzerman is going to worry about Sergachev playing 40 games next year. I'm sure he would rather Sergachev proves himself NHL ready and plays the entire year in the NHL.

He traded Drouin to Montreal to get a stud dman, not to acquire a 2nd round draft pick.

I would be shocked if Sergachev doesn't play 40 games for Tampa Bay, Yzerman(Canadian Olympic Team GM) didn't trade Johnathan Drouin(3rdOV draft choice) for the possibility of getting a 2nd round pick out of it and a prospect that might not be NHL ready, come on now!!!...:popcorn::popcorn:

No way to really tell at this time - if you think SY will hold him back if he can contribute this year just so he can snag a late 2nd I'd suggest you there will have to be more at work than just that to keep your return for Drouin out of the lineup.

I think Sergachev will be given a chance at the start of the season. He'll play at least 8 matches. If he's good enough, there's no reason Yzerman dumps him.

I'm positive he would do that. Serge being in or out of the lineup won't impact their team much this year.

Yeah if he's good enough to make the club then they are going to want to play him not put him in the pressbox. Otherwise they'll send him down.

On top of my head, TB has:

Hedman, Stralman, Coburn, Girardi and Sustr who are more or less locks to be on their starting D lineup.

Then you have Koekkoek. I guess it'll be between him and Sergachev for the last roster spot. And I'm pretty sure they'll favor giving it to Koekkoek.

Not if they want offence. The big issue is the PP. After Hedman and his 72 points, the next highest scoring D on their team is Stralman who had 22 points. If they want to make the playoffs they need a little more firepower on the backend. They don't have Drouin running it anymore either, so their special teams are in big trouble after the 1st unit. They get Stamkos back, yes, but he is just a sniper.

Pretty sure Dotchin starts ahead of Serge and Kook

You'd be surprised just how productive their D-men will be when 'just a sniper' Stamkos returns.
