Goddammit Cashman, trying to make an elite BP instead of getting a competent starter!

Oh wait...

I’ll go back to what I said last off-season. I was cool with passing on Corbin if I knew the endgame was Cole. The question was whether Hal was not gonna let his gunshy nature (Ellsbury deal burned them and Stanton’s deal so far has been up and down) prevent him from handing out another massive long term deal.

Thankfully, it worked out. I’d like to see Betances back, but he gets hurt so much and Hader would be sick at the back end of the pen.

GIVE ME JOSH HADER!!!!

Yanks get Hader and its goodnight.

what would be crazier is if they got MadBum which rumor is they are still lingering on that front.

Maldonado/Wieters/Martin for backup C

Lots of INF options for depth and starts.

I still want Betances back, but Hader would be the best replacement for him.

And I don't believe that MadBum rumor for a minute. It might just be his agent attempting to use the Yankees as leverage.

Which mistakes are you pointing to? Because if you’re going to point out ones from years and years ago, you have to remember the Tampa Faction (Connors, Trost, Levine, etc.) basically controlled Cashman for a while. Cashman wanted Guerrero over Sheffield and the Tampa faction insisted to George that they signed Sheffield because he’s Doc Gooden’s nephew.

The latter part of the previous decade was when the leash was taken off of Cashman.

With that said, he’s made more brilliant moves than mistakes.
Stanton, Ellsbury and the majority of his starting pitching acquisitions come to mind.

Hader would be better than Betances. I could live with moving on from Betances. Betances has been fragile and simply cannot hold runners on.

Stanton? We’re 2 years in and he had a pretty good year in 2018 and was hurt this past year. Got him for Starlin Castro and what else while
Miami ate a significant portion of his deal.

No arguing Ellsbury, easily his worst move.

What other starting pitching acquisitions? Happ? The trade worked out well, as he was great down the stretch in 2018, but the contract sucks so far. Tanaka has been solid for them and has been the team’s best postseason pitcher in both 2017 and 2019 runs. Paxton was solid and they got him for a prospect whose value was dwindling by the day, having major control issues in the minors.

He got the team under the luxury tax and rebuilt the team in 2 seasons. Find me another GM that has done that and I’ll show you the very best GM’s in the league.

I’m not saying Cashman is perfect, but for the people who hate him, there’s always Dave Dombrowski, Jon Hart and a host of other questionable to bad GM candidates to replace Cashman so we can see how poorly ran a franchise can really be.

Javier Vazquez twice, Sonny Gray, Jeff Weaver, Kevin Brown, Denny Neagle, Jaime Garcia, Lance Lynn and my personal favorite, Carl Pavano

You are a better man than I am. Growing up in the 90s it was quite common to use the F word in reference to gay people.

We’ve all said stupid stuff growing up. Calling your friend gay or f** in the 90’s was quite common. It was like calling you lame or an idiot. No one even thought of it like that. That’s a far cry from a guy like John Rocker who was an adult making a statement.

Im not defending bad language, but delving into every past poor word usage is a slippery slope.

Rocker also made his comments when he was a full blown adult.

Hader has teammates of color, if they've got no issue with him, I don't know why anyone else should. People grow up.

If he is still a racist/homophobic asshat, then yeah keep him the f*** away.
