Anyone know how bad the parking situation at Citi usually is during the open? I plan to get there 4-430 Wednesday. Wondering if even that usually isn’t enough if you don’t have pre paid parking

I went yesterday, and my wife had gotten a parking pass (part of a gift for fathers day) with the tickets so we were parked right outside LF. Took 45 mins to get out of the parking lot after the game.

So park and walk would be my suggestion.

You continue to say this doesn't make it anymore true.We gave him an offer,he chose Atlanta.I don't think he ever wanted to come here.He was using us to drive his price up to Atlanta.
Yeah, they gave him an offer that was lesser than Atlanta's. Of course he'd chose a destination where he got more money.

So the Yankees beat the Dodgers (including both of their aces) and somehow drop a rank on MLB.com's power rankings.

I wouldnt have given him a penny over 11 either.Yankees did the right thing.I'm glad he chose Atlanta.

You're glad that the Yankees skipped on adding a pitcher who would be the best starter on our roster ATM? Especially with the current SP concerns?

I could understand this angle if they went out and added a front rotation starter, but they didn't add anything closely resembling that.

Yea i mean that is just absolute nonsense. We shouldn’t have paid $1-$2 million more to add a SP that would be in our top 3? What?!? Thanks. Its this same asinine thinking that has put us in this very position right now. We penny pinch and prospect hug and miss out on the opportunity to add a real, effective MLB arm. A proven arm.

The revenue keeps rising, but our payroll stays the same. It's unacceptable IMO.

They already lost a WS to the Red Sox by refusing to go above $32mil for Moncada - who the Sox traded for Sale and won a ring shortly.

I wouldn’t expect leaving at 10-1030pm though would be that bad. Way more tennis matches coinciding with a game ending at 4-5pm . I do recall when my dad went to a game maybe 7-8 years ago they were actually asking you to show your Mets tickets at the parking gates as you paid because they claimed people going to the tennis match were parking in the Citi field lot which they aren’t allowed to do during a Mets game.

Nimmo needs to come back on 9/1. Rosters expand and keep everyone currently here. No need to rush him even after he plays back to back games. Keep your full flexibility until then.

Generally I agree but I'd wait to see how the Cubs series plays out before making any decisions. If the bullpen is in good shape rest wise, I don't think it'd make a difference to lose Mazza for a day or 2 since we're playing with 13 pitchers and a short bench at the moment.

Yep.

Thats is revenue (dark blue) vs payroll (light blue)

Its crazy. They used to dump 1/2 to 2/3 of their income into the roster. Now, they struggle to break 1/4.

They plateaued their spending but keep raking in more and more money.

Why put a winner out there when you're already raking record profits.

Isn't one of the major issues that the payroll tax thresholds haven't risen at the same rate that revenues have? I'm sure the Yankees would be much more willing to spend, as would other teams, if they weren't getting walloped with the payroll tax.

Yeah to be fair this a big part of it.

Since the adoption of the current luxury tax rule in 2002, the Yankees have paid double anyone else in taxes.

But our owner said they would be willing to spend past it for the 'right upgrade'.

The next, and final frontier is $246 million, and in passing that the Yankees would be taxed at a 62.5 percent rate (for their expenditures above $206 million) and their top draft pick for next year would be dropped by 10 slots. Brian Cashman said the club’s desire to stay below that mark stopped the general manager from outbidding the Braves on Dallas Keuchel this month, but Steinbrenner now claims that he’ll give the OK to cross that highest threshold for the right upgrade.
Steinbrenner: Yanks will add top starter if needed

Also Severino is expected to make a rehab start on Sunday.

Our chances of a title hinges on his recovery.
