Luis Severino will be pitching in a simulated game - throwing 35 pitches tomorrow. And then a rehab start on Sunday.

Giancarlo Stanton performed agility drills today and may participate in batting practice tomorrow. Will prob be sent to Tampa for the homestand to get swings in.

Jordan Montgomery is expected to join Double-A Trenton next, and Boone said Montgomery could be ready to pitch in big league games at some point in September.

Delin Betances is scheduled to throw to hitters again on Wednesday. If that goes well, Betances could begin a Minor League rehab assignment.

Edwin Encarnacion took groundballs, played catch, played soft toss and hit off a tee on Saturday morning at the team’s training complex in Tampa. Yankees expect Encarnacion back with a good amount of time to spare before the playoffs begin in October.

Luke Voit could rejoin the team for the homestand starting Friday vs. the A's.

Greg Bird posted on IG for the first time since last season. He was pictured in Yankee gear.

About time we start getting people back. Severino and Betances are 2 keys IMO. Sevy for obvious reasons. Betances gives us another guy in the pen who can go multiple innings.

He's another Cashman special. Javier Vazquez 2.0. Hopefully he's left off the playoff roster.

If Sevy is healthy then Happ isn't making the postseason roster. Severino, Tanaka, German, Paxton. That's a very good 1-4.

oh man...this is too much fun....another comeback win for the Metsies...love love love it.
Never "too much" fun. Now ya' see what happened. Losing all 3 to the Braves really irks me, but just might turn out to be a good thing. What's that LarryBiv? What are you saying? Are you nuts?

Okay will explain. Soon we will be a much different team and the Braves just might be thinking they are THAT MUCH
better than we are. We get Nimmo (my pre-McNeil/Alonso favorite, a surfacing of Lowrie and maybe even Cano......we will be quite the different team.
Here's to hoping that we have "too much" fun once again.

I'm hope you're right but I'm concerned about how effective Sevy is going to be after not pitching all year. His postseason track record is also spotty.

Chapman has been unbelievable in August, easily the best reliever in baseball this past month. And overall top 5 in the league again.

He's going to cost a lot of money to re-sign, as he will surely opt out. Also need to re-sign Betances.

He's only 31 but has a lot of milage on that arm, I'd rather that go to LeMahieu's monster contract we'll need to give him next season. We badly need him to stay.

Yeah, they gave him an offer that was lesser than Atlanta's. Of course he'd chose a destination where he got more money.

It isn't like the Braves are a bad team. Not to mention, SunTrust park and the entire battery area is an absolutely beautiful place to play. I don't know that it was strictly a money decision.

The only fact we know is that Yankees couldn't sign him due to self-imposed financial constraints - as stated by their GM.

Why would Chapman opt out? He has a guaranteed $30 million over the next 2 years and I can't see him getting more than that in a new contract. Maybe he'll ask for an extension.

He'll get more money on a longer contract quite easily IMO.

Is it me or was the mets logo behind home plate drawn by a 3 year old?

His opposite field dingers go longer than other people's pull homers
