This series against Atlanta has been incredibly frustrating, especially with how they blew chances each night to seize control of those games. It's not helping either that the Nats are heating up and beat the Cubs twice now.

Seeing what Matz has done since the homer, do you take him out? to me it seems he's gotten better as the game has progressed.

He's over 100 pitches and Donaldson's the first one up next inning. They have more depth in the bullpen today with Lugo, Sewald, and Familia all available so I'd probably not push it.

How do you not pinch hit Rivera with Ramos there? There's a runner in scoring position in a 2 run game, you've gotta empty the bench there. Ramos goes in for Rivera then Panik/Davis for the pitchers slot. He held back Ramos for an opportunity that never came.

They're not gonna win if the top of the order hits like they did this series anyway but today was horribly managed on the offensive side of things by Callaway. Ramos has to pinch hit for Rivera in the 7th with the runner in scoring position. And in the 9th, Frazier has no business hitting at all there. Ramos should have pinch hit for him and you let Lagares swing who's actually swinging a decent bat.

Not happy we got swept but it is what is. Not going to lose sleep about it especially when the team is 27-13 in last 40 games.

Braves simply have our number. We have to win 2 of the 3 vs Cubs...simple as that. We do that we likely will be no to more than 2 if not 1 game out of 2 nd WC spot.

Some number I’ve been keeping track of:

Mets are 8-7 since tough part of the schedule commenced which was when Nationals came to Citi

Mets have won 10 of their last 13 series

If we use 88 wins as what likely is the # will be to get a WC(I’ve bumped it up from originally what I thought which was 86), Mets need to go 21-11 in their final 32 games to get there.

Mets have 20 of their last 32 games at home and finish the last week of season with a 7 game homes...4 vs Miami....3 vs Braves

Bottom line...Not going to be easy but we got the home games, we have the pitching, we have some of the injured cavalry coming back shortly and none of our main competitors for that final spot...the Cubs or Cards, the Phillies or Brewers are better than us....we can pull this shit off even with the disappointment of this 3 game sweep.

Keuchel rounding to form.

What a shame, I'd say we win the WS if we signed him. But owners wanted to pinch pennies.

If you recall, there was some speculation that Mets would go after him....

To be honest, I don't recall it all that much other than a couple of blurbs before the season started. I did hear it alot coming from Yankee land which is why I believe @Cassano was referring to Cashman and not Brodie.

That said Keuchel certainly looks pretty close to his Cy Young self from 3 years ago at least when he pitches against the friggen Mets...lol

Keuchel’s issues have been he’s beat to hell and sucks come playoff time. This year because he didn’t pitch all year it’s like June to him right now so he may be good this postseason but nobody is gonna fall for it and he will again get minimal offers this winter. Teams definitely picked up on the fact much like Corey Kluber he would die after he got to 200 innings

Seems you are correct (as usual)...I do recall all the April articles, but I would have sworn there was talk about getting him when deGrom and Syndy were injured and even to replace Vargas.

Anyone know how bad the parking situation at Citi usually is during the open? I plan to get there 4-430 Wednesday. Wondering if even that usually isn’t enough if you don’t have pre paid parking

I can't imagine you'd have an issue because no one will really be there that early for a weekday Mets game. I think you'd run into more of an issue after 6 or 630.
