f***ing Braves are like our kryptonite.

Don't know what it is but we seem to make the most bonehead plays when it's the Braves we are playing.

Damn...down 2 runs now and we need another miracle....shit!

Looks like JD took his plate troubles into the field with him. I don't think I've ever seen that play before.

Sorry but I got to call out my fellow Met fans as that was pretty damn un-classy as you don't boo a Diaz coming out of the game due to some injury....very uncouth....:thumbd:

Sure you can't win every game but tonight was a bit disconcerting at least to me it was. You get this enormous lift of adrenaline from the monster Alonso 3 run ding dong to take the 5-4 lead after being down 4-0 and than before you can blink, right after that, you give up the tying run. To make it worse you play the worst defense this team has played in over a month and you let Franciso f***ing Cervelli look like Johnny Bench and you get embarrassed....simply can't do that.

Well for me that makes tomorrow a must game. All of our main competition for the WC won tonight and we simply can't afford to get swept at home by a division rival who seemingly has our number. As I said earlier, the Braves are like our kryptonite....they simply have their way with us and we do stupid shit when we play them.

We have to win to salvage something out of this series like we did last week in Atlanta when we won the finale of the 3 game series. We than went to KC and won 2 of 3.

That's the prescription once again....win tomorrow and than take 2 of 3 from the Cubs and all will be well again in Metland again. Let it be written...let it done....Nite nite boys...time to give the wifey some attention...lol

At this point just try to win tomorrow. If you don’t you’re not sunk by any means and you control your fate significantly next series facing the Cubs. I really think they’ll go back to winning right away. This is just an issue with beating Atlanta

Makes yesterdays ending all the more infuriating. MLB umpires are a joke.

It's not as if he did anything new....players have been using that ploy for decades and even top notch umps have taken the bait.

(Note -- I am in total agreement regarding the so-called umps.)

I’m confused anyway. I didn’t see Gleyber begin to even run home until he basically started faking that he was hurt. Had he immediately jumped up after rolling over there isn’t even an issue. I assume Muncy must have mistakenly thought Gleyber was running for home all the way which he definitely wasn’t

This.

If there's one weakness in Gleyber's game, is his speed and baserunning abilities.

26-8 since the all star break v. everyone except Atlanta. 1-4 since the break against Atlanta. Still have 3 more games with them after this series but it's the final series of the season so I'm hoping they have the division wrapped up and they put it in cruise control.

Indeed....the minute Muncy went down (or started going down), most runners would have already been on their way home.

I'm not condoning their actions, but can you really be surprised? Diaz is practically the poster child of everything that has gone wrong with the bullpen this season.

We are classier than that no matter how much you or I may not like a players performance which was my point. So if I’m someone who wouldn’t have been booing had I been at Citi when Diaz left due to injury despite giving up a bomb to Freeman, I would think that there would have been plenty of others like me who don’t boo guys in situations like that...ya think?

I apparently am in the minority seeing it seemed most of the stadium wasn’t thinking the way I do and that did surprise me a bit hence my comment that we Met fans should be classier than that.

Yup....that would be a good thing if Braves are all locked in and can not have anything to play for seeing those 3 games are the last 3 of the season and we might need to win 2 if not all 3 of them.

The less kryptonite the better versus these bastards. Meantime, let’s win today and start feeling good about ourselves heading into the uber important Cub series cause you don’t want to be coming into it having gotten swept.

I truly believe Mets will respond tonight like they always have during this amazin run of theirs and will do what needs to done to get the W...looking fwd to it

Braves just have something the Mets can't get past right now. Freeman and Acuna just kill them.

Still wished they claimed Hamilton. He's killed them the last two nights.

Matz needs to keep dealing today. Win and get to the off day. Prep for the Cubs. They've been losing too, but now the standings are more congested again. Behind the Phillies and tied with the Brewers.

Let's start another hot streak today that takes us through the next two series

Sometimes being swept wakes a team up. I fully expected they’d be swept after they lost Friday because the pen got so beat up. If they get crushed today at least with the off day Lugo Wilson Brach Avilan can be well rested for the next series. If the Cubs lose today and you grab 2 of 3 from them next series or sweep them you’re probably in WC2. Again I’m not concerned with the Phillies (except when I play them) and Milwaukee if I’m the Mets. They will both slowly fall out in the next 2 weeks

I can see the Phillies falling out of it, but the Brewers have a very easy schedule to end the season. Lots of bottom of the league teams.

Don't want to say today is a must win, but it's very close to that. Don't want to get swept going into this next stretch vs teams they are fighting with for the wild card.

I think I'm a jinx....just turned the game on....Donaldson promptly launches one and Lagares misplays a ball...guess I'd better go clean a closet or something.

You and I are somewhat rationale human beings.....
