Castellano likes to not wear a shirt under his jersey

These two run shots are like paper slicing thru skin

Mets offense has to get it together. Conforto on 3rd with no out earlier and they don't get him home. Frazier on 3rd with McNeil up and he pops up a fastball to end the inning. The entire lineup has been dreadful for a bit now.

And Mickey's decision to play Frazier at 3rd over having Lagares in center arguably cost them a run as Lagares probably catches the double right before the first 2 run homer. Good chance Lagares also catches the ball that Conforto recovered on to throw the runner out at 3rd.

Ya know, I hate piling on the manager because end of the day I don't think a manager really moves the needle significantly one way or the other. But it's a 3 run game so not exactly out of reach against a team that's bad on the road, it's the 8th inning and not the 9th, you have an 8 man (7 currently with Diaz day to day) bullpen, it's a close to must win series, it's after an off day where the bullpen is refreshed, and it's the heart of the Cubs order....

and you bring in Chris Mazza. Why.

I'm quickly reverting to Spiteful Met Fan who'd rather see Darvish get a complete game than the Mets stage a comeback.

Darvish's 68 mph curveballs in the dirt are apparently Met kryptonite.

This is Darvish's best game in like two years lol

If they cant hit Hendricks tomorrow night who absolutely is awful on the road then they just need to hang it up. Most of my Cub fan friends who came in this week went tonight or Thursday figuring there was little chance at all they’d win tomorrow with Hendricks

Now that we have had our asses handed to us for 4 consecutive games (at home, nonetheless) arguably our biggest game is tonight.
Have to win these next 2 games. Just have to. The Nats just got through sweeping the Cubs, so now they've solidified positioning for 1st WC. Somebody please tell me how we couldn't hit Darvish? Irritating. Thats what opposing teams must feel like when Vargas would pitch a similar game.
I had looked forward to this series as being even more important than the Braves series. We were "housed" there. No excuses. Just go out and win these next 2 games.
Rest assured Alonso is putting that pressure on himself. I just know it.
P.S. We could really use a shot in the arm. Nimmo anyone?
