There are still fans in denial that we have another country club atmosphere on our hands. A more talented version of the Muskoka 5.

Players who don't care love to enable other players on the team who don't care. This plagues the locker room right now and there NEEDS to be a new GM hired to fix this IMMEDIATELY.

we said this years ago. Shake up The core.

trade Marner bring in a coach who isn’t afraid to make Matthews cry. Isn’t afraid to bench stars. Isn’t afraid of smashing shit in a change room for crap play.

keefe probably bought them all pizza in the locker room. He’s a cuck for the stars

Is this what we’re doing now? Attempting to change history? Listen I don’t think I’ve ever been more disappointed in a player, and I have some huge reservations about how his game can adapt to NHL playoff hockey. But let’s be real here, Marner was absolutely dominant for the knights and WAS the offensive driving force of that team

There's no question that Tkachuk's goal scoring and overall grit helped Marner substantially. Marner was a great Junior player but there's been dozens of dominant Junior players over the years who's games do not translate to a higher level. Bruce Boudreau is a perfect example.

That has nothing to do with anything you originally said haha. Attempting to say it was Tkachuk who carried that team over Marner isn’t true. And just because we’re currently mad at Marner won’t change that fact lmao

Tkachuk was only there 1 yr. Marner did it previous to his arrival so I gotta disagree. Tkachuk/Dvorak/Marner was a dynamic generational line but he was a beast for 2 yrs prior to that. Saw 98% of home games live from day 1.

They didn't win the Mem cup until Tkachuk appeared on his line.

In other words he made the difference.

Sorry, your post I responded to said nothing about a Memorial Cup, just that "There's no question that Tkachuk's goal scoring and overall grit helped Marner substantially. "
But if ya wanna add it now, sure
Again I saw 98% of his Home Jr games live and every other game home/away on TV. Marner helped Tkachuk, Marner helped Dvorak, Dvorak helped both and Tkachuk helped both but Marner was great before that line was assembled. And Dvorak was very good also until the line was put together. And so was Chucky.
How many of his his Jr games did ya watch before Cucky showed up? And after for that matter.

And he did score 50 plus points as a rookie on an OHL championship team a few years before Chucky showed up. Very rare for a Knights rookie to get as much time as he did.

59/126/ 116 Marners pts in JR. First 2 yrs were without Chucky. I think he did ok.

At about 5:05

The way he evaluates his own and his lines performance is just embarrassing. No accountability. He does say near the end he wants to get stronger/faster but overall, a garbage response

What do you expect. The guy is making millions while he devastates Leaf fans with his shitty performance that he thinks is perfectly fine. He has his 11M. He's fine.

Listening to Marners presser now ... I honestly think it would be better for him and the leafs for him to move on to another market... You can hear in his voice the pressure has built to a point where he cant perform to his optimum level - This market is not the place for him and its not going to get any easier.

Bottom Line - I think he would welcome a trade.

If he is coming back I'd prefer he gets PISSED OFF and ANGRY and has a I WILL SHOW YOU attitude

again if he is coming back.

Just catching up on all the hooplah

so Tulloch apparently LIED about Marner. Can we f***ing BAN people posting links/twitter from Tulloch or Jeff Vitale (whatever the F that jackass' name is)

Why cuz Marner said it’s not true ? 3 different reporters had similar reports. Based on MMs negotiation tactics is it that far fetched ?

Common sense would tell you it wasn’t true.
It was probably a conversation that happened amongst the players and coaches that was blown out of proportion.

Yeah f*** that. I don't even really fault Dubas for Marner's contract (I never loved it, but I understand the rationale), but this unwavering loyalty to "your guys" when one among them consistently under-performs when it matters most, this is how you ruin a team.

He wasn't the only one to make the suggestion though.

What we have is a "he said vs he said" situation. I'm not saying Tulloch or Dorie or Siegle are necessarily right with their suggestion, but Marner denying something isn't exactly hard evidence to the contrary.

I've lost track of who I've been discussing this with but it started as all Marners fault and now it's "the offence choked hard". It should be pointed out that if the offense gets more goal the series is over after 5.

It would be a long discussion as to why our stars get less points in the playoffs than some of our fans expect. But this shouldn't have been a surprise. It's clearly your expectations as this is the 5th year in a row. I think that it's pretty clear the Leafs Nation has to limit it's expectations.
Hard to do that when 2/3 of the big 3 that was suppose to be the core of the Leafs bright future, signed for significantly more than their peers. Getting paid more than the Aho, Drai and Rantanen of the league while giving them a pass for failing in the playoffs time and time again doesn't feel right, so the complains that is now coming against them is very justify and frankly the complains should have came sooner, but fortunately for them, they had a goalie who put up an impressive .937 sv% against Columbus last playoffs to unfairly take the brunt of the blame last year.

To me, this just isn't good enough.

"The fans can feel any way they want"

To them, we're the toxicity. We're the problem lol.

I just can't get over the fact there is 0 accountability. I wish I could continually fail at my job yet keep it and brush it off as "thats your opinion."

Unreal.
Yeah that's a sign that management is ok with failure
They created an environment of noone is going anywhere in the top 4 regardless of results
