This isn't isolated but a consistent thing that is happening to people's posts and not just mine.

None of us want to trade Zegras and we are all sick of the trade threads that pop up but deleting information because you don't agree with it is wrong. If it's bad info then we can discuss it and and move on.

What are people going to think of the mods here if it comes out that the rumors were true and you have been spending your time trying to cover them up?

Which "insider" are we talking about here? Having a following does not mean they deserve to be considered a legit source, the majority of those guys are complete hacks.

It's not a one time thing or even isolated to my postings. The follower count I quoted was for Anthony SanFilippo who writes for Philadelphia teams.

Everyone is a hack and everything said is a rumour until it's not. The latest buzz about Rantanen isn't even a rumour it's just a thought someone had so that info is even worse as it has no basis for truth.

We are not going to allow misinformation posted and to fuel discussion based on false info. Speculation is one thing but when there is a legit rumor it can only be posted if it’s by a legit NHL insider like a Dreger, Friedman, or yes even Seravelli even if we don’t care for him here.

Plus a lot of these guys do more speculation than anything.

A person with 3k followers on twitter is not a legit insider. Especially a person who says “I heard a rumor that these teams are interested in Zegras”

It’s utter BS and we are not going to allow misinformation posted.

The link that was deleted here was an account that started in 2019 and has 3,100 followers. It’s not a legit account. If you’re on the trade boards, then they’re even stricter.

I'm only okay with trading Zegras if its for a massive upgrade. I just know he will blossom elsewhere and I have thought he has looked good this season for the most part, points aside.

I would trade Mac before Z. Z is more impactful to the team than Mac IMO. Mac plus something else should grab a really good piece coming back our way. In fact, Mac should stay on the wing and Z should be the playmaking center in the next game.

Hanging around the distant reaches of the Western Conference playoff race, the Ducks are showing signs of turning a corner following six consecutive seasons well out of that mix. While general manager Pat Verbeek may elect to move veteran defenseman Brian Dumoulin, that doesn’t make him a seller. At least not to the degree he’s been in recent years. The Ducks would also be open to trading John Gibson, although there don’t seem to be any teams currently shopping for a goaltender in his price range. Gibson is willing to waive a no-trade clause to go to Edmonton — the Oilers insist they aren’t in the goalie market — and Anaheim has had on-again, off-again conversations with Carolina going back to last summer. They seem to be (mostly) off now. Add it all together and it may end up being a quiet deadline period in Anaheim.

I’ve said this over and over again , Gibby here and supporting Dostal is more important than a late round pick. They are at .500 because both goalies have not been burnt out this season sharing the work load.

I don’t mind having him here at all but the idea of trading him isn’t to get a late round pick. The idea would be to retain 50% on him and receive a reasonable asset in return. With his performance this season I don’t think it’s that far-fetched although at the end of the day it comes down to if there’s enough suitors out there for him.

Having said all that, it really also depends on what Gibson wants at this point. If he wants to move on then we should probably facilitate that IMO

The reality of Zegras is he has little value at this time. His value to other teams is purely potential. It is a FOMO response of unlocking that potential.

Zegras will also be an RFA at the end of next year. He may only re-sign for a year, but he’s going to get nothing in arbitration. Once he gets past age 25, it will be tougher for the big payday without the numbers to back it up.

I’d only move Zegras if a team is willing to overpay for him. Otherwise, just hang on and hope he turns things around. But he is a good player for the Ducks to keep at this point. Worst case, the Ducks re-sign him for $4M for a year and move him at the TDL.
