Quite a different response than Mitch's
Most teams don’t win, but it feels a little better knowing the loss bugged your players more than it bugged you.

I think willie is decent. 25% shooting % is lucky
You forgot about all the goals that went in the net the other way while willy was on the iceNylander could have shot at 1% over the past 18 playoff games and STILL would have had more goals than Marner... I'm happy Marner's regular season numbers are good enough for you. However most people here are looking at value and as it stands Marner is overpriced given his lack of finishing ability in general but especially in the playoffs. This is a salary cap system you can't expect to compete if you're paying wingers 11M for 1 goal in 3 playoff series.
If 3 points in games 5, 6, and 7 while playing a brand of playoff hockey isn't rising to the occasion than your expectations are too high. We can't have people saying Nylander is overpaid, and then in the same breath have expectations that he goes 1.5PPG in the playoffs while being a Selke Candidate player.
?? willie was plus 3 ... marner plus 1 ????You forgot about all the goals that went in the net the other way while willy was on the ice
Willy and Kerfoot were only 2 reasons we were even in a game 7 .. be real folks .. they were our team?? willie was plus 3 ... marner plus 1 ????
At a 25% shooting percentage?? willie was plus 3 ... marner plus 1 ????

This is what a responsible player does. He accepts his short comingsMost teams don’t win, but it feels a little better knowing the loss bugged your players more than it bugged you.
Instead all we heard was…….we had good looks and I’m not changing anything in my preparation for next year.Hearing something along these lines from Marner in the season ending presser would have been much better for his image.
It'll be a while before I forget that ugly turnover in Game 7 by Marner or the needless puck over the glass penalty while short handed. At the end of the day Mitch made key mistakes that led to big goals for the Habs down the stretch. He was on for 4 of their last 6 goals and was the major factor in another with that over the glass penalty. You forgot about all the goals that went in the net the other way while willy was on the ice
Lots of Paul marner burner accounts working overtime latelyHahaha this stuff is hilarious
Marner is unlucky because he failed to produce.
Willy is lucky because he produced.
I guess Marner has been unlucky the last 3 playoffs
This is ludicrous
Hahahahaha
whatever that means .. they consistently broke through Habs defense with their speed .. it is only way to do it against fearsome 4some .. you can't skill your way through it .. you either use one of 2 methods in pro hockey -- your speed with blowbys OR you resort to game I played where you take on Weber and Edmunston and knock one or both out cold and stand over them as they lay in their blood .. take da game suspension .. but that game has gone way of DO DO bird and quite frankly many of us would have been thrown in jail for things that occurred with stick swingings, running guys heads into glass with intent to injure, putting your stick so far up a guys junk that he became your b*tch rest of game etc etcThey were on the kiddie pool line

Marner is well on his way towards having that defiant, combative relationship with the media we saw with Kessel and Phaneuf in their later years in Toronto.
It'll be more with the fans than the media IMO. That letter after his contract wasn't to appease media, it was to reconcile with the fans.Marner is well on his way towards having that defiant, combative relationship with the media we saw with Kessel and Phaneuf in their later years in Toronto.
Not sure how much an argument to trade a 100+ pt player who generated a ton of scoring chances and was shut down by a hot goalie on a team going to the stanley cup doesIt'll be a while before I forget that ugly turnover in Game 7 by Marner or the needless puck over the glass penalty while short handed. Not sure an argument about how much he contributed defensively does much
Stop comparing Marner to Willie, that’s disrespectful. Marner is a top 5 points producer and 2nd highest paid winger, his comparable are Ovie, Kane, Panarin and Kuch.
Marner played with a Rocket Winner and Hyman while Willie played with a waiver pickup and 3C.
Marner PK while Willie often sat on the bench or in the box during PK.
Willie shoot at goalie hoping it goes in, Marner deked around the goalie to get a complete open net goal.
Marner took more hits than most forwards on the Leafs.
Did I miss anything?
To his defence, he said Willie can’t keep up 25% and that’s destine to decrease, which he is right. While Marner 0% will certainly increase. You can’t stay 0% forever. Even Muzzin got 2 goals in the playoffs.hahahaha ... i forgot that expected goals wins games and not actually, you know, scoring more real goals than the other team ........
and 25% is a helluva lot better that ZERO ...........

ahhhhhh speed. Those goals were due to high level speed were they? Back to that. Does caufield have enough speed to fit you dumb theory btw?whatever that means .. they consistently broke through Habs defense with their speed .. it is only way to do it against fearsome 4some .. you can't skill your way through it .. you either use one of 2 methods in pro hockey -- your speed with blowbys OR you resort to game I played where you take on Weber and Edmunston and knock one or both out cold and stand over them as they lay in their blood .. take da game suspension .. but that game has gone way of DO DO bird and quite frankly many of us would have been thrown in jail for things that occurred with stick swingings, running guys heads into glass with intent to injure, putting your stick so far up a guys junk that he became your b*tch rest of game etc etc
