Who was on which side?
LaPanta was the earn your way up the lineup guy. Russo was like wtf, homie lead the preseason in points what else does he have to do.

Both were making valid points, but I think Russo was more right. Rossi isn’t going to show much if he’s playing 7-10 minutes a night in a grinder role.

How do you know if you don't try it? You think you would've guessed Berube's changes would've produced such a dramatic result before hand? The only way to know is to try it. what we DID knbow? That the status quoe was producing nothing but domination against us.
I’m guessing it’s not hard to win a series with:
-PPG 1st line center
-almost PPG 2nd line center
-third line center is Ryan O’Reilly

But hey, it’s obviously Dean’s fault he can’t compete against that with Hartman, Gaudreau, and Eriksson Ek. Definitely not the GM’s fault.

It’s obviously Dean’s fault Fleury went .879 and .871 in games 4 and 5 and Talbot went .846 in game 6. Meanwhile, Binnington went .933 , .938 and .968 in games 4-6. Definitely Dean’s fault we don’t have a goaltender that can make a save on the roster.

Y’all are pointing fingers after a tough stretch, I just think you’ve got the wrong guy.

Yeah, in broad strokes I don't think Lapanta's point is without merit, but it rings kind of hollow 2 games into the season. Bottom line is that a former top-10 pick and your only major center prospect played like 20 shifts before spending Game 3 in the press box after the entire team collectively **** the bed twice in a row. Kid's got work to do, but that situation doesn't happen unless someone higher up the food chain screws up.

I've been pointing a finger at Guerin for a couple years too and that also pissed some people off. They've both done their fair share of contributing to three straight first round losses. It's not all on Dean but some of it is.

I was pointing fingers at a coach in the playoffs who several times did little to nothing when what the team was currently doing was getting their ass handed to them.

If he made changes and still lost... fine, so be it. To not even try to? Sorry, but that isn't acceptable IMO.
He has earned his rep, and rightly or wrongly it affects how fans see him in his job.
I was and still am a big fan of Bruce Boudreau, because he seemed to make changes when changes needed to be made. Sometimes they worked, sometimes they didn't, but he tried and more often than not, what he tried worked.

I know some weren't a fan of him either... so be it, that was fine, I wasn't going to get bent out of shape over it. Nobody is going to agree on everything, nor should they, it'd be a pretty boring place if they did. I am not at all a fan of Dean after entering in a wait and see opinion period, but I've had it with him. He's earned my opinion of him, and now he has to earn his way to my opinion changing. That won't happen overnight either, but it's not impossible.

Reverse Retro 2.0 jersey is getting revealed tomorrow. I’ll be ordering a Boldy. What’s everyone else getting?

$100

The last jersey I ever bought is in my avatar. I make due with whatever I get for Christmas, now. I was sorely temped on the original reverse retros, though.

I've watched exactly 0 minutes of Wild hockey this season: am surprised by the TDs they are giving up.

MAF seems to be scapegoat #1, but the D must be porous and the back-checking weak?

It's certainly a new approach for the always defensibly responsible Wild.

Who's the tank prize this year?

First game was a throwaway on the defense and goaltending, maybe they were hungover. Game two was mostly horrendous goalies with a splash of questionable D, Hartman flubbed everything both of these games and got demoted. Game 3 the team was much better but abysmal goaltending and weird puck luck did them in.

Skaters look like they are getting back on track, both goalies literally could not play worse than they have. A full tank is extremely unlikely, goalie is definitely a concern though, at least there’s cap space to help if they can hold it together for a bit.

Bedard and Michkov are seen as two of the better goalscoring prospects in a while, Michkov has a multi year KHL contract, same team as Khusnutdinov and it will hurt his draft position. Fantilli and Yager are also really highly rated centers that would have been contenders for first overall in a typical year, this draft is seen as being very strong as of now, both at the top and through first round depth. Last place guarantees a very high caliber player, several teams are intentionally tanking this year, including Chicago and Arizona.

The reverse retros don’t have black thankfully, but they are just duplicates of the last one with the green and white swapped. I still like them, but don’t think I will be getting another one. Would definitely go Boldy if I did though.

I wish they'd just stick with the reverse retros that they had. They were great.

Watching this without sound is hilariously awkward. Not that the music helps much.
It's like he has something caught in his pants that he is trying to shake loose without using his hands.

It looks like he's trying to stand still but failing, then pretending like nothing weird is happening.

Looks like he's lost and frustrated because he can't find whatever he's looking for.

And the wait for the black jersey continues.
May it never arrive

A lot of cool RR 2.0s around the league. I like what they did with Seattle, Winnipeg, St. Louis, and Pittsburgh. Interesting logo choices for Panthers and Oil. Detroit gets screwed again.

Chicago and Detroit...
