The North Stars were always a cool team. And a pretty damn good team for quite a while. Smith(check out his stats in his first four years), Payne, McCarthy were quite the line, and they had a good defense led by Hartsburg, Maxwell, Sargent, Giles. Then Dino and the Brotens came in. A skilled, fast team that could play some defense.

Not a fan of these ones, feel like they really mailed it in and it shows. Look like a sprite can. Disappointing because the away jerseys of green teams tend to be great (Edina, North Stars, North Dakota, etc) if done correctly

This is why I'm wondering if they're trying to go the way of the Coyotes with the Kachinas. Otherwise what's the point in just flipping the colors from last years and doing home/away of the same exact jersey (besides $$$).

The only thing I can say is that they should have added a black stripe to them,
The jersey it's based off of, didn't have one.

The black stripe wasn't added to the green sweater until 1988

Just looking at this picture, I think if they released this one last year and the white one this year, I wouldn't be getting the white one. The white one looks good, and I know they're the two sides of the same coin, but it looks so much better with the majority green (I've also just never been a fan of most white jerseys compared to their colored counterparts, so that's my bias).

Great another jersey that was designed buy someone eating Subway and drinking a sierra mist in their shekmobile.

I've been pointing a finger at Guerin for a couple years too and that also pissed some people off. They've both done their fair share of contributing to three straight first round losses. It's not all on Dean but some of it is.
I was on board with Guerin’s whole schtick of “we can’t afford his cap without moving a couple of guys out and we are not gonna do that” right up until he traded Kulikov for nothing and Talbot for a huge downgrade. I thought he was a good GM up until that point.

Good trades:
-Zucker : Addison+Lambos
-trading up to get Wallstedt
-McBain : 2nd (since he wouldn’t sign)
-Kahkonen : Middleton (I guess)
-Pateryn : Cole

Mediocre/Bad trades:
-Kulikov for nothing
-Talbot : Gus
-Sturm : Jost
-2nd : Fleury

Unknown:
-Fiala : Faber + Ohgren
-Kunin : Bonino + Khusnutdinov

Ok, let’s look at this teams long-term lineup.

Kaprizov-xxx-Boldy
Ohgren-Ek-Yurov
Beckman-Rossi-Marat

Lambos-Addison
Brodin-Faber
Hunt/O’Rourke/Peart-Spurgeon

Him (Wallstedt)

It’s hard not to be excited about this group. I don’t think we have a solution to the 20+ year problem at the 1C spot even if I do think Rossi will be a solid NHLer in time. My guess is that Guerin tries to weaponize the cap space when we come out of the buyouts to get a guy for that spot. Easier said than done, but a few 1Cs have moved in recent years and I think he’s going to have to be willing to move 1st+O’Rourke++ to try and get something to work.

EDIT: moral of the story is that I like where we’re going and I’m going to enjoy the hell out of watching KK97 and Boldy going forward, but we will have to figure something out down the middle eventually.

Brackett will be Guerin’s best move as a GM if they continue to find good players in the draft.

Boldy is the sneaky option. His freshman year was a longtime ago and I believe his whole line was snakebit. Not advocating for it, but I’m sure eventually it will be whispered about at the very least if Rossi or someone else doesn’t take the 1C spot.

I have my doubts that Kaprizov will want to re-sign here, especially if we keep losing in the playoffs.

I think marat might be able to play C. He's strong, and can really skate. I can see him as a Gaudreau type, at least.

Draisaitl is a UFA the season the dead cap goes off the books. :naughty:

I don’t see him as a Panarin or Kovalchuk who runs off to NYC. He seems like a more laid back type who may enjoy the lifestyle in MN. If he stays, he’s a legend forever, so we have that going for us as well. Someone needs to make sure Zuccarello settles down here when he retires.
