Also, the way Guerin and Evason seem to be handling some of these prospects, none of the guys we draft between 2023 and 2025 will be playing in impact roles come the end of the 2025-26 season.
So we're really relying on Yurov and Ohgren, among a few others, to be top six contributors in 2025-26. But Ohgren has this year and next in Sweden (I believe), and then at least 1 year in Iowa. That means he'll be in the Rossi boat in 2025-26.
Yurov has this year in KHL, and if he doesn't sign an extension, at least a year in Iowa, making him a sophomore in that 2025-26 season.
Khsunutdinov is in Russia through 2023-24, and then a year in Iowa, making him a rookie in 2025-26.
Wallstedt should hopefully be a capable starter by then, and guys like O'Rourke, Lambos, Hunt and Beckman will probably be role players here by then, but we're going to have a pretty significant lack of secondary scoring behind Kaprizov/Boldy if the rest of these players don't hit sooner rather than later.
Fiala would have helped a lot.
