Zucc is right now 4th in nhl points scoring, tieing McDavid. Pretty good for a 35 year old that gets basically ignored in minnesota.

His +/- was ranked 639th out of 639 skaters this year, at least coming into the game, so... he still needs to be better.

Yes it's a flawed stat and many other Minnesota skaters are near the bottom, but still...

Ignored? Then you should hit twitter...

Keep in mind he started his NHL career at 23, so he has plenty left in the tank. This is why I'm pretty sure the Wild want to extend his contract.

Can't expect getting bedard tying games on the road. They need a 4-20-1 start to the season lol.

hows everyone feeling about year one of cap h3ll? fleury looks like hes scrambling & rolling on the ice to put out a fire. our D looks like a cartoon which way did he go? no chemistry yet from our forward lines , only good individual efforts from a few. could be a long season. check please , no tip!

1. Defense and cap will improve with Dumba gone.
2. Fleury already looks a lot better.
3. Forward lines will get it together.

A side note, Shaw might be a better fit for the 4th line than Dewar. Haven’t been impressed with Dewar.

Add Freddy G. To the 4th line too. I realize he has intangibles, but he’s not a top 6 forward. And Billy G. I like your philosophy of “good guys” in the room. But when 12 to 13 of them are, at best, 5-10 180, there’s more than just being
“Good guys” as part of the team chemistry equation.

I’d enjoy being a lottery team this year , like a high pick lottery team. I’m good with the team only winning 20 games. We need a legit impact player in the 2023 draft. I’d be good with trading Kap also to be honest. His age doesnt line up with what might be our window in 3-5 years and we could get the absolute world for him and Zucc this year.

Kap-Rossi-Boldy
Steel-Dewar-Zucc
Foligno-Ek-Geadreau
Duhaime-Shaw-Hartman

Brodin-Spurgeon
Middleton-Addison
Merril-Dumba

I’d rock this lineup. Reduce minutes of 4th line and 3rd paid.

I think this team would be better off just tanking and going for a high pick than fumbling around, squeaking into the playoffs and then get curbed stomped again. You can only do that for so long before it just gets stupid.

It's interesting, imagine if the Wild traded Kaprizov and Zuccarello as a package, to a team with a star 1C. Both are top 10 in the league right now. The Wild should get some really nice picks and prospects out of this. But Guerin isn't looking 5 years ahead, he wants to win now.

Who'd have the cap space for that? Also who would want Zuccs if he wasn't a rental?

Sorry, not a fan of trading quality for quantity, besides you trade those two you're not getting picks in the top 10 back more like 18 and over. Can't help but being reminded of the Burns trade.

Would of course have to make room cap wise, but not impossible.
And teams would like to have Zucc too...

Top points:
Artemi Panarin - 11
Valeri Nichushkin - 11
Connor McDavid - 10
Mats Zuccarello - 10
Sidney Crosby - 10

Zuccs is pretty old at this point. Teams are going to worry when he drops off.

Dewar is an all round better player than Shaw. Better skater, better skill, smarter, plays C.

Must be in the AHL cause I totally disagree with what I've seen at the NHL level.

Even watching them in the AHL, I prefer Shaw over Dewar. Always been high on him. Watched just about every AHL game the last couple of years.

The players aren't going to tank and we can't just sell off everyone.
It may be "stupid" to fans to keep losing in the first round but I guarantee the players and management would rather do that than tank for a pick that may or may not work out.
