well yeah but Smith had to make at least 3 similar great stops, maybe 4. We have below average goaltending overall. Our tenders seldom make fantastic saves but other teams always seem to manage 3 or 4 every game. We think they go vezina on us but no that is what average NHL goalies do.

Totally agree, he’s really holding whatever line he’s on back. But I just don’t see the Leafs scratching him out of respect unfortunately.

title pretty much says it all, we got average goaltending they got great goaltending. Hutch didn't giveup a bad goal but he didn't make a great save either.

I thought the save in the 3rd on Drai that got deflected was pretty great.

Guys... Hutch wasn't even that bad. I didn't see the first goal but the second goalie was a lucky bounce that no one saves. Third goal was a 2 on 1 which is a high danger chance that Rielly and Matthews played poorly. Just needed more offense.

This. Hutch was solid. Our PP failure streak is right up there with the Sabres, gotta stop blaming everything on the goalies IMO.

Leafs played well. Edmonton was just okay.

Meh, Leafs should be able to score more than 2 on goalies like Smith. 2 goals in 60 minutes for Hutch is solid. We're also like 0/18 on the PP, which is terrible.

Dear Manny Malhotra and whomever else "coaches" the PP:

Be careful what you wish for, everyone wants Freddy on LTIR but when Campbell can't play this is the goalie you get, first scoring opportunity he sees in 3 on 3 and its in the back of our net. Hutch wasn't awful today but the Leafs limited the chance's he saw.

In saying that, thought we played pretty well. Out played them in the first and third period but we need our special teams to be the difference. 0/18 and haven't scored in the past 8 games now on the PP. Going into the playoffs, the Leafs cant afford to have mediocre special teams, most of the time they are the difference in winning and losing in the playoffs.
