Time to end the Thornton experiment. Need a young, tough, fast, cheap motivated player from the farm in his place.
We've been limiting shots all season it seems. Strange how that turned around so quick. We used to give up like 40 a night.Be careful what you wish for, everyone wants Freddy on LTIR but when Campbell can't play this is the goalie you get, first scoring opportunity he sees in 3 on 3 and its in the back of our net. Hutch wasn't awful today but the Leafs limited the chance's he saw.
In saying that, thought we played pretty well. Out played them in the first and third period but we need our special teams to be the difference. 0/18 and haven't scored in the past 8 games now on the PP. Going into the playoffs, the Leafs cant afford to have mediocre special teams, most of the time they are the difference in winning and losing in the playoffs.
Well at least McDavid was held without a goal again and Mathews got a great one.
You think he had a chance on that deflection?
Smith went god mode tonight.Meh, Leafs should be able to score more than 2 on goalies like Smith. 2 goals in 60 minutes for Hutch is solid. We're also like 0/18 on the PP, which is terrible.
Dang Nabbit was a terrific star out of Georgia and had a terrific career as a relief pitcher with the old Dodgers out of Brooklyn and then played his last remaining years in Puerto Rico with one arm and one leg and was blindDang nabbit!
You're completely wrong for having expectations for a goalie. End of story.A long deflection into the middle of the net? Of course.
But whatever. I don't expect much from Hutch.
Just imagine where this team would be in the standings and our chances in the playoffs, if they had top 15 goaltending all season long.

you Called A shutout for Hutch earlierA long deflection into the middle of the net? Of course he had a chance. He could have come across with the shot going way wide but did a weird wave and opened himself up.
But whatever. I don't expect much from Hutch. Leafs need to score some for their 3rd stringer.
I’ll take 3 of 4 points from Edmonton.
Dear Manny Malhotra and whomever else "coaches" the PP:
Obviously hard to predict how often a goalie would pick that deflection up fast enough, but it certainly isn't zero. You are right...that is alot to expect...the OT 2 on 1 was way more saveaable. Looked like house league lateral movementA long deflection into the middle of the net? Of course he had a chance. Because God hates usWhy was Jack Campbell injured?
OT OT, there never much love when we go OT.
Getting sick of every tom dick and harry standing on their head in the opposing net pretty much every game we play.
Bull. Freddie on Robidas Island opens up cap space to sign an alternative. Freddie's done here. Time to accept it.Be careful what you wish for, everyone wants Freddy on LTIR but when Campbell can't play this is the goalie you get, first scoring opportunity he sees in 3 on 3 and its in the back of our net. With a Hutch start mixed in, I wasn't expecting moreAnd they took 3 of 4 from us. Didn't get to gain anything on them.
