Are the Lions for real?
Yes. Whether they still manage to shoot themselves in the foot along the way remains to be seen.

Will the Packers fall apart without Rodgers or will they surprise people?
They may surprise people at just how badly they fall apart. Their running game should still be good on paper, but Jordan Love under center means there will be 8 or more in the box on every play.

Are the Vikings finally going to take the next step and look like a contender?
No. Their window is rapidly closing with an aging defense. I like Mattison, but I don't know that he can handle a full season instead of just spotting Cook, and while Jefferson is a stud, he's not carrying everybody to 11 wins.

Is Fields the answer for the Bears?
Yes, but not for another few years. They seem to finally have the patience to try an honest rebuild.

Not to be a jerk but I think you forget they are wearing cleats, a lot of NFL guys put on an inch cleat. Looked like Raymond and Seider were wearing flip flops. So you got a cleat and shoe and whatever elevation difference you have coming off the field along with the angle as other are saying. It can make this look pretty different in a hurry. I thought the part where Raymond grabbed the bag they were tossing around and realized it was tough to move was also hilarious.

It didn't look like Mo has put on a ton of weight. The Wings have a nutritionist, Stevie is pretty big on that back to his Tampa days. I am sure both guys are following what was told. Raymond looked heavier.
Raymond said he weighs 186 in the video and he looks like it. Mo said he's 200, possibly rounding down from ~205 for effect. But Raymond definitely looks thicker in his frame, hopefully he takes a nice big step this year.

You're not going to enjoy how smug I'm going to be when you're wrong.

I hope Love is absolutely horrible lol. Packers fans have gotten way too lucky with QBs the last, forever years, or so. Time for them to feel it a little bit hopefully.

I actually dont think he'll be horrible, but I think even from Rodgers last year he'll be a downgrade

That's right, keep yapping. It will make it all the sweeter.

Looks like several popular sites have the over/under at 7.5 wins for Green Bay. I take it you like the over?

Of course. Love looks great in every piece of tape he's put up for the last year. Everyone expecting this team to fall off and become the whipping boys of the division are not paying attention to the patient draft and develop happening in Green Bay. The offense is young and unproven but they've never been faster or deeper. The defense has not lived up to expectations, but again has too much talent at edge and CB to simply be a bottom feeder.

I don't think the team is a contender this year, let's get that straight, but they are far too talented and well coached to fall apart completely. 7 wins this year I consider their floor. Less than that means something went seriously wrong, be it injury or otherwise.

But let's break down the 8 games to hit the over.

Bears - 1
Falcons - 2
Saints -3
Lions
Raiders - 4
Broncos - 5
Vikings
Rams - 6
Steelers
Chargers
Lions
Chiefs
Giants
Bucs - 7
Panthers - 8
Vikings
Bears - 9

That's 9 games against very beatable teams if Love is simply average. And that's conceding getting swept by the Lions, Vikings, and losing to fringe teams like the Steelers or Giants. The Packers have a pretty generous schedule, all things considered. That helps.

This is what Mike Tannenbaum has been saying...

See what I did there. The same hopelessness of Steve Phillips liking your baseball teams moves.

no, I just figured cleats add a couple of inches. I wasn't trying to exaggerate when I said Goff looked like a 7 foot NBA center standing next to Seider.

If it all goes belly up, I'll take my lumps. But training camp and preseason have calmed most of my worries. We'll see how that looks in a few months.

As someone who doesn't really follow the NFL anymore, and is technically a Lions fan, I just want to say that I am 0.1% offended by @Bench's trash-talking in this thread. It registers, but just barely. Kind of like Aaron Rodgers' integrity. So suck on that, Bench!

Hoo-ah, got him, boys!

Listen, I've been very kind to the Lions and their fans over the years, but the yapping they are starting to give me when I'm a lovely ray of sunshine has forced me into this posture.

I thought you guys were better than the typical Vikings garbage, but I guess one season of ALMOST making the playoffs has all these Lions fans all spiced up.

After years and years of so much misery, can you blame them(/us)? We're still getting used to this new seat on the bus that isn't the muddy first step when you get on... the proverbial doormat of the bus. We've been sitting down in this well with the chewed gum and bottles of urine rolling onto us for so long, it's difficult to remember how to be a civilized member of society, sitting in these comfy faux leather bench (heh) seats and all! Please forgive us while we strip down to change into normal clothes and clean ourselves up to fit in, and accidentally flash our peen at you. It's just part of the process. We're getting there. Being able to see out of the open window for the first time is a little bit of an overload to the senses. If the wind accidentally blows our drool onto your face, we hereby apologize!

Now with that said, the Packers effing suck, and your a HUGE looser, Bench! Go Loins!

As a Packers fan I'm not going to get too excited until we beat the Bears in Chicago week 1 (if we don't win I'm prepared for a sad season), but I think LaFleur is hoping teams under estimate Love's arm and is going to pound the rock and then unleash balls down field. Love has a great arm. I think people forget he's also only 5 months older than Fields too, just came out of college earlier.

The QB the Packers drafted this year is older than Love. So yeah, Love was drafted as a young prospect to groom into the offense.

If this experiment works, I think you'll see more teams copy it. Draft a raw prospect with all the tools and sit him a couple years while he develops to the professional game.

Beating the bears may be a pretty low bar for excitement.

If the Packers win I will get 1 text from a friend about how the bears suck and everyone we know is stupid.
If the bears win I will be fielding at least 9 texts within the first 5 minutes telling me how much the Packers suck and how awesome Justin Fields is.

if you lose to the bears those are just statements of truth, though Hell, I'll be messaging you on here to tell you how bad the packers are at that point.

The Qb the best team in the north drafted this year kinda fits that bill with Hendon Hooker. Hes older but raw, gonna sit a couple behind Goff as well

You must pound your chest a lot less hard than the other people in my city. I'm being told that I like a 3 win team and they're about to win the super bowl just like they were when they almost won a wild card game.
