Hard Knocks is a win. MC/DC is a quote machine.
Cant wait to watch it tomorrow, hopefully outside of the quotes people realise Campbell is actually a smart football guy and not just a meat head.

Who would you say was the star of the episode?

I've hated the Lions my whole life but MCDC is turning me into a fan. It's hard not to love him. No idea whether or not he's a good coach.

But, importantly, he also IS a meathead. He knows firsthand what effort you need to put in and that bangin bodies is what winning football is.

Not even worried about who they'll include in the search or how long it will take to dig out of the hole.

This is a time for celebration.

I hope Chris doesn’t get the impression that he’s off the hook for this shit stain organization, but this is still a step in the right direction

Hahahahaha...

Christ is he unlikable. "We don't want to look back, we want to look forward." Ok that part is fine, in general. Also, no one wants an owner who meddles too much. BUT. You ARE the owner. You were Al's boss. A GM is never going to voluntarily shed payroll, you twit. And to hell with you for implying otherwise and thinking no one would notice. You don't get to just shirk your responsibilities like that. Well, I guess you do, but you should be held to account. What a weasel.

Wow. Mike Ilitch was just an opportunistic businessman but was generally a stand up guy with a Greek temper if someone stepped out of line in his mind (Fedorov/Scherzer)

Chris Ilitch is actually a piece of shit. Like dude, you fired the guy. You don’t need to throw the bus in reverse, run over his head, flip it into drive and go back and forth. You’re the boss. You’re meant to take the slings and arrows my man. Basically “it didn’t work with Al and we are looking forward.” Not “Al was a shitty GM, right guys!?

Yep. If I'm a member of the media at that presser, my immediate question is:

Then was it apathy or incompetence that led to keeping such a bad general manager for seven years?

Holy shit - this sums up my thoughts as a Guardians fan every time Paul Dolan whines about money. Just admit you're a cheap f***er and move on.

Wonder how Steve Yzerman felt when he heard that. I mean, he's gotta know that he works for a prick of epic proportions, but wtf? What an entitled asshole. Wonder if Chris thinks he could have built this empire on his own?

Illitch just needs to find a buyer…take your money and focus on Pizza and Wings. Dude could care less about the Tigers

Checking out the top 100 nfl players list for this year, I see Qaundre Diggs, Darius Slay and Stafford on the list. Thanks for all you did for the Lions Patricia and Quinn.

I do think the Lions will improve this season. Campbell and company are doing there best at trying to change the atmosphere and get the team to expect to win.
Hard Knocks has been fun to watch. I like what DC is doing hopefully it works but its hard not to have some doubt being a Lions fan. I’m hoping for 8 or so wins but not real sure about the defense. Wish Diggs and Slay would have stayed but don’t blame them wanting to get away from Patricia. What a awful coach he was.

Yeah it's such a shame. Despite his flaws, Caldwell left a pretty good core here that a quality coach could've potentially taken to the next level. Instead, Quin and Patricia basically left the organization in tatters. I really miss Slay in particular, one of my favorite Lions of all time.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the Holmes/Campbell project so far. I will say as much as we love Campbell, I think the standards will start to change as the team becomes more competitive, and he's exhibited some questionable game management that needs to be buttoned up. I'm hoping that Holmes is prepared to leverage a package around both of our 1sts to solve the quarterback problem this summer. Very easy to root for Holmes and Campbell though, I really do hope they can build something here, even if it's not necessarily a Superbowl contending team.

Patricia, sheesh. Rivaled only by Ausmus imo for the most damaging Detroit sports coach of the 2000s.
