This is the current mock draft, no idea why the Jags would do this:

I don't understand it either but Walker is the favorite to go first now. Whatever, I would be very happy with Hutch and I have to think he's someone the Lions wouldn't pass on if the Jags do.
They probably share my opinion that Hutchinson is a good to very good NFL player, but does not have the ceiling of other prospects, even in a relatively weak year for a top 5 pick.
But the Lions will take him, and they'll throw a parade over how happy they are to draft him, and he will be a B+ guy for the next decade...
...while teams after them find and develop guys that become All Pros and perennial Pro Bowlers. It's the Lions Way.
To begin, I tend to care very little for combine stats. Anybody can have a superb or awful weekend; just ask the Raiders after all the times they chased a wide out with the best 40 time.It obviously has a lot to do with his combine, but I also think his combine really made teams go back and review the tape on him. He rarely actually rushed the passer, and has multiple position versatility.
With that being said, if he goes first, it really seems like theyre trying to be the smartest in the room and wouldnt be surprised if it blows up. The Jags are a team that is seriously mismanaged. I actually have a sneaky feeling theyre gonna take Icky first.
I dont understand this logic. Hutchinson has everything to be a pro bowler with a fairly high floor. Hes more athletic than Thibodeaux with more production against better players. Hes also on a really steep development curve whereas Thibodeaux seems to have levelled out.
If Hutchinson wasnt a big, white guy I really doubt anyone would question his upside or athleticism considering he just had something like the 13th highest RAS score ever for a d end out of 1000+ players at the combine. Elite production at a football factory school in a really strong conference never gets this kind of disrespect come draft time

And read through the finer details in the reviews. The trend seems to be, "high floor, great motor, but some questions about athleticism and ceiling".

Again, it's not that he isn't a good player. But is he a surefire game changer at the next level to select at #1 or #2 overall? I have my doubts.
What else can you ask for?

Moving up to 12, I'm dumbfounded they didn't take a QB.
ACL injuries aren't what they used to be.Trade up for a WR in the first round that tore his ACL could literally only be one team lol.....
When healthy he's the best WR in the draft... It's a steal for the value that was given upTrade up for a WR in the first round that tore his ACL could literally only be one team lol.....
None of them are worth taking at 12. Holmes saw the WR run and landed a guy he wanted and never thought he would get. They had little pre-draft interaction with Williams.Moving up to 12, I'm dumbfounded they didn't take a QB.
