I like that David Ortiz is on there. I know it's because he was a Tigers killer, but I also kinda forgot how annoying he was. The fact that he made it publicly known that he wanted every opposing team to honor him at their own parks in his final season is just lame, and I'm still annoyed the Tigers chose to do that. What an irritating 162-game curtain call that was.
Not to mention how the media sucks him off but everyone else who allegedly used PEDs has been blackballed from the Hall of Fame

That's a strange phenomina of honoring a opposing player/coach for their swansong in a lot of instances. Especially when said opposing player is a outspoken advocate for their own homage. It's not like Ortiz was a universally embraced player nor did he transcend the game.

Sometimes it's just wrong. UNC was in the right not honoring Coach K like other teams did. I mean, could you imagine a tribute to Urban Mayer at The Big House?!

Cade got hosed.
Enh. He should have gotten more 1st place votes than he did. And I get the whole, "When has winning ever been a factor with ROY?" complaint but it actually can be if the teams the rookies are on are winning teams and from there it's relative to how much of a role those rookies had. It's whatever to me. Just, no more tanking plz.

Detroit to DC to Chicago
The three big questions facing the Pistons this summer, from my perspective:

1.) Where will we pick (May 17 lottery), and who do we draft?
2.) How much of the Blake Griffin money do we spend, and who do we spend it on?
3.) Do we move Jerami Grant around draft day, and if so, for what package?

1. If they can get Jabari then get Jabari. The shooting is too good. I've become pretty meh on the remaining Top 4 (Chet, Paolo, Ivey) as far as building around Cade but my sense of this changes every week. Watching Desmond Bane and Mikal Bridges in these playoffs makes me think Keegan Murray or Bennedict Mathurin could actually be the pick or would make me feel somewhat fine with dropping.

2. I think the targets in terms of FA are Brunson and Ayton but both teams would be beyond stupid to not pay them. I'm hoping for some real tire kicking and perhaps some shrewd trades for some wing players going into their 3rd/4th year or higher. I sometimes Google, "Who's low key in the mold of Mikal Bridges / Desmond Bane?"

3. If Portland's pick falls to within 3-8 then you have to give them a call. But I can see myself being happy with keeping Jerami until the deadline. I'm not interested in seeing them get younger. Jerami seemed to figure out that the offense can't primarily run through him and I'm not super hopeful they can get a better player. I'm also super curious about having a lineup with a lot of length and switchability of Cade - Murray / Mathurin / (Wing Player) - Saddiq - Jerami - Isaiah / (Lob Threat / Rim Protector). Because that's where the NBA is going anyways unless you're a great small guard or a great big man.

That's not the way we want to make the national news, boys.
I’ve been seeing a lot of bad stuff lately for Detroit sports now lol. The choke In baseball. Worst plays in baseball on YouTube with a tigers thumbnail. Red wings allowing 10 goals a game. :(

I don't understand it either but Walker is the favorite to go first now. Whatever, I would be very happy with Hutch and I have to think he's someone the Lions wouldn't pass on if the Jags do.

This is the current mock draft, no idea why the Jags would do this:
They probably share my opinion that Hutchinson is a good to very good NFL player, but does not have the ceiling of other prospects, even in a relatively weak year for a top 5 pick.

But the Lions will take him, and they'll throw a parade over how happy they are to draft him, and he will be a B+ guy for the next decade...

...while teams after them find and develop guys that become All Pros and perennial Pro Bowlers. It's the Lions Way.
