You hate to see it. ;)

As an outsider, they've seemed more like a collection of 1st round draft picks, than a complete team. See also Minnesota. Sure, they could've won and all, and are still a very good team, but not good enough.

In contrast, IIRC, Mankato has like 2-3 drafted players, and not even very high at that. I had no idea that Mazur was from Jackson though, although no way I could ever root for Denver.

As for the Tigers, my dad had to drunk call me about the opener, he's spent 20+ years working home openers for one of the beer distributors, he said it was actually fun to see a game on TV.

I think it's a bit wild, that about 13 months ago, I saw Torkelson playing for the Whitecaps, and he's now in Detroit.
The 2 most consistent teams were in the finals last night. Michigan had a stretch where they looked like they had it all together and could dial it in at will. I was really impressed when they dismantled UMass both games. Then you saw the cracks appear again in the B1g final and the game against Quinnipiac. They were generational in terms of talent but nowhere near being one of the most cohesive teams I've seen.

Was cool seeing Torkelson at the Wings game last night with a Larkin Jersey on
Did he go with Haase? Because on the broadcast, they mentioned Haase is a Red Wings and Larkin fan, who would go to the game with his kids (and thanks for the distraction from the frustrating last two games against Boston).

A majority of the Tigers team was in attendance, if not the entire team. It was a Tigers-Wings double header in Detroit, in particular celebrating the Tigers and the return of baseball starting up.

Haase and Garneau read the starting lineup to the team…I know they showed Cabrera in the stands with other players…Torkelson was up talking to the broadcasters in between periods

After a "slow" start for Tork, hes got a couple dingers now which leads the team, and has the second best OBP on the team as well.

Welp, Mize and Manning are both injured. Rebuild back on?
depends how long they're out and how the guys stepping into their spots behind them do. I mean, one of the big things that separates the top teams from the average teams is organizational depth. If healthy we have a lot of reasons to like this team, but start dinging their health...it could get ugly.

As long as these guys aren't missing a month or longer, I think we have the coach and arms to ride this out a bit, though.

There's only one actual Detroit athlete on the list and its... Eric Ebron?

Guy was drafted a little too high, performed a little low, and moved on to other teams where he's been kind of ok. Why is anybody thinking about him at all?

Because he made a habit of lashing out at the fan base and arguing with them on Twitter. And then continued to throw shade at the Lions organization and fam base after he left.

I like that David Ortiz is on there. I know it's because he was a Tigers killer, but I also kinda forgot how annoying he was. The fact that he made it publicly known that he wanted every opposing team to honor him at their own parks in his final season is just lame, and I'm still annoyed the Tigers chose to do that. What an irritating 162-game curtain call that was.
