I don't really follow every bit of foosball news. Why do people keep joking that Tom Brady must really hate his wife and kids just because he unretired?

Because he retired for like a week.

He also said he retired for family/personal reasons.

The Lions don't fool around: They brought back almost every FA and signed D.J. Clark (my favorite WR target because of his size, speed, potential and price tag) to a decent deal. If I were the GM, I would not have re-signed all of the guys Holmes did, but there is definitely an advantage in keeping the team together whose work has markedly improved. The success may not come in full this season either, but I really like what the Lions have done after moving on from Quinn and Patricia.

Hughes and Beniers are top 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker. Beniers has an outside chance to make the final 3, Hughes, not as much. Freshman don't get the love they deserve for the award.

I'm guessing Dryden McKay, Ben Meyers and Bobby Trevigno are the top 3.

I like what the Lions are doing, it seems they are being patient and instilling a good culture. Rebuilding from within first, then I imagine they will reserve from making big splashes in UFA until it's time to be competitive and add those finishing pieces to the roster after another draft or two or three, depending on how things progress. Chark is a nice grab, but it was much more of a need then a finishing piece. There is still a long ways to go. If the Lions get some impact players in this upcoming draft and Goff doesn't completely suck next year, I could see them doing alright. Maybe not playoffs, but more then 3 wins for sure.

On the topic of Goff, man I don't know what to think of the guy. When he's good, he's actually pretty damn good. When he sucks, it's like having a backup out there and we saw too much of the latter last season. It's known he sucks throwing long, but if he can get even a little touch on those throws and manage turnovers it would go a long way. Maybe Chark will help with the deep ball. I don't expect him to ever be the guy he was at the end of last season long term, but he can definitely do better then earlier in the season.

I absolutely love Dan Campbell as well, he is exactly what the franchise needed. They didn't need the smartest x and o's guy available, they needed a guy the players wanted to play hard for and they got him. I have somewhat of a good feeling about Ben Johnson as well. He can't be worse then Lynn, and even if he isn't that great it seems like DC does pretty well at calling plays.

They probably won't be that great next year again, but this is still probably the most hope I've had in the entire Lions regime since I can remember, and even with that I'm going to temper my expectations. At the end of the day, it's still the Lions, and if any team can flush all your hope straight down the toilet it's historically been them. Finger crossed🤞

Right on, I'm cautiously optimistic. Which is more than I can say for the past 4 years of my Lion's fandom. I've been checked out after year 1 of the fat pat regime, where I basically just recorded the games and fast forwarded until they lost. I'm feeling much more invested this off season. I am kinda laughing at some of the people out there who are freaking out over the lack of FA signings though. Um, hello...they just got done wasting how many tens of millions on bringing in overpriced FA's during the last regime? Get that crap off the books, build a solid foundation through the draft, and then shoot for the moon.

Western Michigan gets a good win against North Dakota tonight. Win or lose tomorrow, UM and Western should get #1 seeds when the bracket comes out.

Great for the Broncos. I strongly dislike ND.

Husky fans are sort of hoping Tech backdoors into the NCAA, and they could, but they were living on borrowed time all season. 11 of their regular season games went to OT, and that was a good bellwether of how they struggled in the CCHA playoffs, with 2 more OT games against Ferris, and a beating by Bemidji.

But if they get in, it's a little bit more experience and they could say they did it. Probably get matched with ND or Western and lose 6-2 or 5-3 (I'm honest with myself).

Whatever our differences, we'll always have North Dakota:thumbu:

I think Tech gets in even if UConn, Bemidji and Harvard win tonight and get autobids. Who knows, maybe they'll pull some OT heroics in the tournament and give you some serious-ass gerd. Wouldn't surprise me if Tech did well. The bracket is stacked and there are only 2 or 3 teams that I would consider chum for the sharks. DU is ripe for an upset.

Oh man, it's an even worse scenario drawing a red hot Duluth team:oops: I don't have a dog in this fight (no pun in the battle of the dogs), but I'll be pulling for your boys. They were always my fallback team from the WCHA days of yore.

Michigan state losing to Duke, name a stronger combination.

As for college hockey, yeah, Tech is going to get their asses handed to them, I'm just not buying into them, seeing as they spent a 1/3 of their season going to OT and couldn't get going at home, in the playoffs.

As for ND vs ND, couldn't they both lose somehow? I dislike the golden domers more than UM.

I dont watch a tonne of the Pistons but threw the game on last night. Its crazy how many calls Cade doesnt get. There was a million whistles last night but Cade was still getting mugged quite a bit, then go down and Portland is shooting free throws. Bey has come a long way though, hes legit AF. They add a Banchero/Holmgren/Smith big man this draft and they might be rebuilt. Upgrade Hayes in free agency and you have a playoff team if they get one of the bigs. Beef Stew is just more of a bench/energy guy, too small to handle the size of NBA centers

Hayes is a good bench player. Stewart would be better off it as well. That’s a good bench squad lol
