I would be OK if they suspended from the tournament and beyond as well.

Fired? Spare me..

I wouldnt have been surprised if he got more but 5 is on the low end of what I was expecting. More surprised that that Kobbenkroft or whatever his name is, Wiaconsins assistant didnt get anything for his role in it all. Not saying a suspension but if Gard was fined, he definitely should have been too.

Theres been a lot of takes about this siutation on twitter and I dont know how people think this is going to hurt recruiting, if anything I bet young guys like him more after that lol

The NCAA Suspended him 2 games and gave him a 40k fine…which is the most ever. The University tacked on the extra 3 games

Who here is keeping an eye on the Michigan Panthers draft? I'm not but I'm seeing some activity in some of my group texts.

Dear Congress, I know you're probably busy with a lot of stuff. But if you could please pass this one law, us fans would be much obliged:

Regardless of sport, for each day that a lockout continues, one percent of total revenues go to charity.

That would motivate both sides to negotiate with a bit more urgency.

Baseball will probably be a dead sport with how they handle things anymore.

Ken Burns and Peter Gammons quietly crying in a corner somewhere.

I thought that after two disrupted seasons, there would be more urgency, but if the owners don't seem to care, they won't miss my money, so adult me will find other things to do with it.

In hindsight, glad I didn't get some Tigers tickets for opening weekend in Seattle. Maybe I go to another Sounders game this year instead.

I have passing interest (pun intended) and Fischer is a great coach. I went to all of the older Panthers games in 1982-3. The Panthers won the 1st USFL championship at the Silverdome with QB Bobby Hebert. The fans tore down a goalpost and passed it around the stands like a huge mosh pit. Teams back then had NFL talent and 2-3 teams would have been OK in the NFL. I doubt it will be the same today

Over/under MLB playing 120 games this year?
Somewhere I read that MLB have to play at least 138 games (or so), otherwise the TV money will be reduced. Therefore I guess that a deal will come right before this crucial number of games is threatened.

I don't know about that, honestly. I seriously suspect the owners are so hell-bent on making the MLBPA bend that they'd cancel the season before giving in. That's a shame because they're doing nothing to grow the sport.

I'm starting to become convinced the owners are hell-bent, as you say above. I'm going to take the under on that at this point.

It's a shame, because a lockout is doing them no favors after the last couple of seasons.

I didn't realize Sparty hockey was just this bad. Both UMs, tOSU, PSU, UW aren't going to sit back and feel bad for them and wait for them to get gud.

I know UM is pretty good but losing 8-0 in the knockout game in the playoffs is hapless. Now I'm pissed they beat Tech in the "GLI".

Tech is going to get dispatched quickly at this rate; Huskies and OT hockey name a better combination, although to Ferris' credit, they didn't go down without a fight.

Badgers giving ND a tough series. Maine was pissed after Friday, 8-1 over 14 BU last night.

Yeah, I'm typically a huge MLB fan but the past few years have been brutal for the sport:

- Changing the balls
- Changing the foreign substance rules mid-season
- Astros scandal

And now this lockout, spearheaded in part by Chris "The Parking Lot King" Ilitch, nonetheless. It's really too bad.
