At the Suns/Pistons game. Pistons are terrible shooting and defending (at least tonight thus far). Parlayed the Pistons moneyline & under. Modest $20 bet.

I’d say they are average at defending maybe below average at worst.

I don’t follow basketball to speak of, but is there any hope for the Pistons?

Are they in tank mode? Is it the ownership?

Also, why does the NBA seem to lack parity? A handful of really good team, some ok ones, but when teams are bad, they seem to be really really bad.

Tank mode - Pretty much.

Ownership - Kind of meh but there are far worse out there.

Parity - Hopefully one day but who knows. The league doesn't seem to feel much of a financial incentive to do so.

It won’t last but the parity in the East is good. Only Orlando and Detroit don’t have a shot at the bubble. The west is a little bit behind the east but it’s still kind of there.

NBA is more of an individual player sport to where all you need is one or 2 superstars to be relevant. Teams that don't have any superstars rarely win which is why you see such a gap between the good teams and the bad ones

John Morosi was on the radio this morning he said he doesn’t believe the season at risk right now. Maybe some spring training setbacks.

Honestly, Manfred better understand that his sport can’t afford a work stoppage lost season.

Manfred is a f***ing moron so I don't think he understands.

There are some clear parallels between Manfred and Bettman on providing some of the worst possible optics for the leagues they are leading and representing.
Yeah, there are. I can't imagine that if MLB keeps losing popularity that Manfred sticks around for as long as Bettman has. His mandate is going to be to turn things around and appeal to new audiences, and I just can't see him successfully managing to do that.

The difference is while Bettman’s optics are shit… Donald Fehr on the other side is a chump and Bettman has actually been decently competent behind closed doors. Like he knows what he’s doing and that he’s probably more successful at accomplishing the owners goals as the face people spew vitriol against than being the goodly leader

The Pistons are in tank mode but going in a really good direction. One more stud in the draft this year hopefully and they'll be really good in 2 years. Cade is goingt o be a stud and people will want to play with him and Beef Stew is going to be the heart and soul

Whoever is wearing the striped overalls at the UM game is irrationally bugging me as someone who loves the MTU pep band.

JJ McCarthy going to break the speed of sound apparently. He shouldn’t be catching up to Corum that easily

Looks like some Sparty fans will have to come up with a new insult besides these recruits weren’t even alive last time Michigan won the Big 10. Go Blue!

What a beautiful 4th quarter. Just a straight mollywhopping after that big forced turnover on downs at the end of the 3rd to close it out. Go Blue!

I don’t know how this committee sorts this out reasonably.

After this domination Michigan actually should be number 1. The only reason they wont be is because the committee wont want a Georgia Bama rematch this soon. Bama is the only other team that could go to 1, they lost to a barely ranked Texas A and M who were like 20 point underdogs, they barely got by unranked Auburn in 4 overtimes last week, barely got past a .500 gators team.

Bama is the only good team Georgia has played, their signature win was a week one 10-3 win against Clemson who isnt good.

The only reason Bama will go to number one is because the committee doesnt want the 2 SEC teams to play off the hop in a rematch.

I could see it being legit if Michigan barely squeaked by Iowa or something, but not the case. Michigan should be one, Bama 2, Cincinnati is in. The only weird one is do you let Georgia or Baylor in? Does winning your conference matter?

Bama beat Georgia…ok…but lost to an unranked A&M and barely beat Auburn last week…therefore I fully expect Michigan to stay at 2…if so I’d love to face Cinci

I kind of wish the committee had any balls and would have come out and said “the SEC championship game will be a play-in game. You lose and you’re out. We will have seen what we need to know.”
