U of M secured the #1 seed in the CFP, they get to play Alabama. Ooooof. Another choke job incoming.

FSU got megascrewed.
I dont like Saban having a month to game plan but this Bama team isnt Bama from like a decade ago. Miracle to beat 6-6 Auburn, have had close games to multiple shit teams too

Yeah, I thought FSU should be in based on record. At the same time I don't feel they are better than the 4 that made it, add OSU and Georgia to the list. I can somewhat see why the committee chose to bone them. This would have been a great year to start the expanded CFP.

The only thing that annoys me is you don't put in the teams that you think are the best. You should be putting in the teams that were the best all season. An undefeated Power 5 champion with an incredible resume should go in over Alabama. I get Texas, but not Alabama. They had their chance to go undefeated, but they didn't, plain and simple.

Fun fact 44% of National Champions used a different QB in the Championship game than the first game of the season (CFP era).

The joke is that the committee still has people thinking it's based on the talent of the teams, instead of the dollar signs of the ratings.

Some of it will get fixed when they expand to 12 teams. But seeding and matchups will still be primarily based on what makes everybody the most money, not on performance on the field.

Imagine, as a Power 5 team, your schedule coming out and the NCAA says, "even if you win every game including your conference championship, you will not be selected as a top-4 team." Wild.

Wow, that's actually a helluva stat, assuming it's accurate.

I saw it on the internet, it has to be true.

2021 Georgia JT Daniels --> Bryce Young
2018 Clemson Kelly Bryant --> Trevor Lawrence
2017 Alabama Jalen Hurts --> Tua Taglabama
2014 - OSU - J. T. Barrett --> Cardale Jones

But does FSU an incredible resume this season? They will be exposed on the 30th and show why they didn’t deserve to be in the playoffs.

Honestly between the shame I feel as an MSU football fan, the immature dialogue between all of college football, and now the stupid playoff format, college football is kind of hard to like

I feel like Michigan got unlucky with drawing Bama. I think you guys should win tho

Yes...

FSU has the most wins (eight) over bowl-eligible Power 5 teams and is currently No. 3 in ESPN’s Strength of Record rankings (which reflects the chance that an average Top 25 team would have team’s record or better, given the schedule).

Saturday was the first time since Nov. 28, 2015, vs. Florida (W, 27-2) that Florida State has held a ranked opponent to under 10 points.

For the second consecutive game, FSU held its opponent to negative yardage in the fourth quarter (-15 at Florida, -23 vs. Louisville).

FSU had more yards and allowed less yards in their championship game than UofM did.

They'll be exposed? Their defense won't all of a sudden stop being the best in the nation. Georgia was exposed by a mediocre Alabama Quarterback.

I hope all the games are interesting and that Alabama gets waxed.

Their third string QB was also playing in that game if I remember correctly, so they would also have gotten their second stringer back for the playoff. SO saying that that QB held sway on their decision for the committee is just BS.

That defense is good enough to scare any team in the playoff

And if it was a 12-1 team from Nobody State University that defeated Georgia instead of Alabama having done it, FSU would be in the playoff. This is all about money, as usual, so the committee is going to pick the available teams that drive the highest ratings.

It's definitely not right. But it's absolutely real.

I'm not alone in seeing him being way more valuable than the entire front office, am I?
I think the jury is out on Harris. He certianly looks the part but I'd like to see him make some real moves (beyond guys like Canha, Maton, Vierling, McKinstry, etc.) before passing judgment. We'll see what he does over the next few weeks.

I think my issue with the GM is that if Ilitch isn't willing to consistently open the wallet it seems there is only so much he can do. I like the signings he's made so far, but if these are just as much because he's limited to them as he's choosing them...you can only get so much out of them.

I'm hoping we see a lot better development of guys in the minors. It feels like we very rarely have guys exceed expectations or come up to the Tigers at all ready.

I'm sitting here like, 'man, Tork finally kinda broke out, Greene is legit and may be a sleeper coming off his injury, Carpenter has a stick, Keith looks like an RBI machine, Clark is special, and Jung might be our solution at 3rd.... We've got an awesome lineup on the horizon!'

And then I think, 'jaster (that's not my real name), you are doing an excellent job setting yourself up for serious disappointment.'

I'll believe it when I see it, I guess.

speaking of the Tigers I forgot the draft lottery was today, still not used to that being a thing

looks like they didn't move up or down meh

apparently the As not only fell from 1st to 4th but having two consecutive lottery picks means they also can't pick higher than 10th in the next draft now too, nice to see their terrible ownership get punished a little bit for once

I feel this exact same way lol. Especially about Tork. The Tigers need to actually do it if I'm gonna believe it

So Eduardo Rodriguez, who blocked a trade to LA because he wanted to be closer to the east coast, has signed with.... Arizona. Cool.
