They are going to get punished more for the destroying of evidence and the lack of institutional control. Harbaugh will be in the NFL next season, he’ll be suspended for the whole 2024 season. Just hope they don’t kill the school with vacating scholarships. And hopefully we don’t get killed with the the transfer portal

That's a stacked team. You could do much better than Alexander Mattison, though, depending on who is in your free agency. The Viking's Rush "Offense" is horrendous and I don't see that improving any time soon or at all this season.
Youll be happy to know my team has started off 0-4 and now on the bye... I have lost interest already with that poor start haha

Yup. Read everything I’ve said. Michigan deserves to get the book thrown at them because they did break the rule and then they did all the shit you’re REALLY not supposed to (take money from boosters for improper stuff, have a coach instruct players on how to obfuscate things, and be a repeat offender)
And in this case the "book" or what they've done in the past is all of not shit when it comes to boosters illegally distributing money. Talk of not liking sports if teams "aren't playing by the same rules" is just willingly sticking your head into the ground when it comes to the state of college football.

Every NCAAF national championship to date in the playoffs area has been won by a team who has illegally paid their players.

Michigan is better than Ohio State and the best team in the Big Ten. Period.

Doesn't stop the fact that Michigan is gonna get absolutely set on fire.
(I'm a dyed in the wool Blue blood too). I'm not thrilled about it, but I'm less thrilled about them again letting boosters anywhere near the f***in team in an illicit way after Ed Martin.

I don't believe that it went up to Harbaugh, I really don't, but everything with this Stalions, Uncle T, and Chris Partridge thing is exactly what the NCAA is going to burn you down for. Whether fans think it's a big deal doesn't matter. It thumbs in the nose of their rules and power, so they're gonna to hammer it when they see it.

It's a Pandora's box what might ultimately happen, but I suspect it won't come close the the pound of flesh everyone seems to want.

The NCAA and the Big Ten appear mostly focused on the PR and there are games left to be played which will further shape the national narrative.

Play the victim? Check.

Claim that others are just jealous? Check.

Paint others with a broad brush, immediately after harping about using stereotypes? Check.

Gee, I wonder why anybody would ever have a negative opinion of that university...
Thank you for proving my point. I never played victim and never painted with a broad brush. Michigan haters just continuing to generate their own alternate reality though

Sweet so now I am liar. Maybe it isn’t a story I necessarily like going in depth on. Probably because you like a complete ass faked actual physical injury. I wound up with five stitches above the eye because I was hit with a bottle thrown while saying **** MSU and I was wearing the shirt. No you leave that scene when it feels like the mob is descending. I can forgive you the ignorance having not been there or maybe it’s just the learned ignorance you seem to be acing the course across all of Ann Arbor in lately, so way to channel your inner Wolverine.

Yes, there was a grouping in on this issue. The only people attempting to defend it were saying things even though the known details clearly pointed to serious violations. The only response from the alumni to students right on up to the top of the University at the Presidential level was this false bravado. Lo and behold U of M didn’t exit the conference, U of M did put its tail between its legs and accept punishment. They didn’t fight it in the legal system where they had a very dubious challenge ahead. They are going to get hammered by NCAA whenever that decision comes.

I wanted to have the conversation it’s why I didn’t ask the others Mods to look to take it down and responded the way I did, because you did personally offend me while trolling. We have posted here a long time, I don’t have to agree with all takes. My opinion of U of M has been crystal clear the whole way and yes on this board it puts me in the minority. I have been far more vocal on this because it’s madness to accept that boosters, failure of institutional control, failure to cooperate which was on the table until last Friday all carry Level 1 violations. I don’t have to say nice things about them and I won’t. I don’t have to listen to delusional escape plans when the actual rules are available right online. I can be gleeful they will soon be punished harshly for another time for egregious NCAA violations.

That doesn’t come from jealousy or lack of therapy. I don’t come to this board for validation or to lie. Maybe some do, I really stayed in touch with it because I moved to a place where nobody watches hockey. Honestly this board has been a little hard to come to on that front lately anyway.

Dead wrong about what…

Sorry your glass house got hit.

People post hateful things about fanbases all the time on this board. Do we take down every Boston post, Chicago post or Toronto post. You can feel that but yes I am criticizing the fanbase. Yes, I really also haven’t experienced great times in Ann Arbor. You’re openly criticizing just me and alleging lying. Cool, so like none of the things you were saying were going to happen have happened yet… Thanks for the life advice doing just fine, sorry your joke sucked this time, I have liked plenty in the past, it isn’t going to happen on this subject.
No one predicted UM would leave the conference. It was reported that they discussed how they would leave the conference, if they were to pursue such action, and I endorsed continuing to consider it. Admittedly, I came at that with a bias against conferences in general that goes back years. They are part of a suppressive system that, to me, no fanbase should want to be a part of.

My first post on this issue was that Michigan should face punishment for breaking the rules. Based on what we knew at the time, Michigan was justified in pushing back against the Big Ten for breaking their own bylaws, regardless of Michigan's guilt. Then it came out they had a coach who destroyed evidence and a booster involved, and they were no longer in a position to push back. New information changed things.

So yeah, dead wrong about what? You're the one predicting the NCAA is going to hammer them and make them vacate 3 years of wins, based on.... what?

I personally offended you while trolling? Come on. I didn't troll. I posted my take on the situation, while watching you and others continue to tee off, stereotyping against all things Michigan with a whole bunch of word salad to justify it. Eventually I give a little pushback on that and I'm trolling?

Sorry you had a traumatic experience as a kid, truly I am, I had my own, but using that experience to justify the generalizing done in this thread is lame. No one is asking you to not hate on Michigan, let alone say anything nice, I couldn't care less. But maybe don't throw so many stones if you're going to choose to live in a glass house of your own.

Hope you enjoyed Harbaugh's suspension.

On the Michigan front... I will say two things.

1) They absolutely lacked institutional control with this and should fry for it. They had coaches allegedly telling players what to say to the media, boosters getting involved with coaches to perpetrate the in-person scouting, as well as the other recruiting violations during the COVID dead period. They cheated and broke rules and should face punishment for it.

But

2) There should also be some temperance on the penalty (Re; sign stealing). It is something that is done by literally every competitor since the beginning of time. It isn't some earth shattering, integrity of the game bombshell. All the talk of "Oh, they should have the option to not play the game" was always nonsense. And teams in the Big Ten will see the next time they do something that everyone else pushing for penalties immediately without the notice of allegations or the proper procedure being followed is not a great thing. Even if you're guilty as sin (and it looks like Michigan is guilty of a lot), you deserve your day in court without the presumption of guilt.

More than anything, this needs to be a wakeup call to the NCAA to just let there be f***in microphones in the helmets. What Michigan did is akin to hopping into the carpool lane to pass someone in rush hour traffic when they're driving by themselves. Perfectly legal action in other circumstances when the left lane is open, but not so much at that point.
This is it. The lack of institutional control is now pretty apparent, and that is a bigger offense than anything having to do with gaining a competitive advantage. Michigan haters pointing out the Stalions/Partridge/Uncle T componenets, and how that should have been known internally and disallowed? Yup, I agree. Wanting to see them raked over the coals for it? Yup, I get it, they should. Still harping on the idea that Michigan gained a meaningful competitive advantage? Lol, ok.

Draper wasn't in the box with Dallas Drake

Maltby was in the box with Lilja  this Draper guy is a PHONY!

Great article though, thanks for sharing.

Z helped kill off two 5 on 3s in that series. Draper is remembering Game 6 I think. Maltby and Lilja were Game 4. Draper rammed Gonchar's head into the glass. That would get a 5 game suspension today. Or... A $5K fine, who knows.

So the Tigers did a thing: Tigers add Maeda on 2-year, $24 million deal

Honestly, i appreciate they are trying to improve...but what is this guy actually going to help with? Hopefully trade bait for blue chip prospects.

We have a bunch of kids in that rotation, the Tigers need a guy or two like Maeda who (hopefully) will step in and be that veteran rock every five days that steadies the ship. Just have to hope Maeda stays healthy.

We can also hope it is a precursor to the Tigers becoming big players in the Asian market. My dream of going after Ohtani refuses to die.
